2B Played Music is giving away its QFX Echo one-knob delay plugin (normally €19) for FREE until October 31, 2024.
QFX Echo is a MacOS and Windows release available in AU and VST3 formats.
To get your free copy of the plugin, enter the coupon code “ECHO” when you check out after hitting the Buy Now button on the product page.
You’ll then need to sign in or create a free 2B Played Music account to complete the checkout, as well as enter all the details you’d usually need to enter for a physical order.
2B Played Music offers eight of these one-knob QFX One series plugins, and they pick one several times a year to give away for free.
Moving onto the interface, the big rotary knob on the QFX Echo alters the intensity and depth of the delay.
The interface is rounded out by a preset selector, a high-pass filter, and independent delay time controls for the left and right channels.
The independent delay time parameters are an important feature as they give you a significant amount of control over the stereo image.
The QFX Echo is still quite a recent release, as 2B Played Music dropped it in June 2024. Often, you have to wait around a couple of years before the developer starts giving a new release away for free, but we ain’t complaining!
QFX Echo, like all the QFX One releases, is about getting the job done quickly and easily.
I can see how the QFX Echo’s no-frills design would make it perfect for demoing, songwriting, and tracking parts. It’d be handy any time you want to get sound designing quickly.
And if the results sound good, then you may end up keeping it for the final mix anyway.
2B Played Music suggests that the QFX Echo is a natural fit for vocal processing (both male and female), synth leads, and pads.
The dev produced a demo video for the QFX Echo, which showcases that just by adjusting the central knob, you can take the sound from a very subtle color delay to a very full-on, out-there sound!
