Ally Audio has launched the Z-Verb reverb plugin as an exclusive macOS release in VST3 and AU formats.
The indie developer describes Z-Verb as a plugin that “can expand your sounds into another dimension.”
Ally Audio explains that the plugin allows users to “Play around with space and wetness with a pad interface to quickly experiment with different reverb settings. The pad also works with automation, so you can get really creative with it.”
True to form with Ally Audio, the plugin is quite lightweight at less than 35 MB.
The interface is quite simple, with only four parameters to play with, which are placed below the main display panel.
Ally Audio has made the Z-Verb available via a ‘name a fair price’ model.
Once you enter a figure (which can be zero), you only need to provide an email.
After that, you will be redirected to the download page, and the developer will email you an activation key.
Z-Verb is the second plugin released from Ally Audio, with the first being the Ally Multiband Compressor.
Much like the Z-Verb, the Ally Multiband Compressor is available as a free plugin and features a no-frills design philosophy.
The developer spruiks the plugin by saying, “Replace your complicated multiband compressor and get professional dynamics in your songs.”
The Ally Multiband Compressor is a three-band comp with a pad interface designed to help you quickly find the right amount of compression.
The pad parameters control the attack, release, threshold, and ratio across the three frequency bands.
The developer has also included input and output gain controls, as well as solo, mute, and bypass functionality for each of the frequency bands.
Both the Z-Verb and Ally Multiband Compressor share a similar bright, ‘80s video game aesthetic, which adds a point of difference to the Ally Audio releases.
Ally Audio seems to be a new developer, as the company’s Instagram page does not yet feature any content.
There’s also not much information available about the developer via the Ally Audio Gumroad page, apart from the tagline “Tiny plugins, massive sound.”
