Audija updates KickDrum virtual instrument to v2.7

Audija has announced an update to its drum instrument plugin that turns a sample into a fully editable patch with reconstructed pitch and gain envelopes along with texture and optional wavetable creation.

KickDrum 2.7 is now live, featuring a long-awaited feature: Bezier Curve shape preservation on node add/remove. Also, a lot of focus was put on little details, removing naggy stuff, enhancing workflow, hardening everything.

But there’s more: the Analyze function is completely rebuilt, taking the experience of the first two approaches and combining them into this new one, resulting in a solid technique that’s much faster and way more precise.

Changes in KickDrum v2.7

  • Analyze algorithm rebuilt from the ground up (see YouTube video below):
    • Pitch curve and gain envelope smoothing controls.
    • Wavetable max Waves option.
  • Bezier Curves now preserve shape when adding or removing a point.
  • EQ now has preserve symmetry option (on by default, except for presets prior to this).
  • Oscillogram appearance improved.
  • Frequency markings for EQ and Oscillator Keyboards.
  • RangeSelector refined.
  • Reverb’s negative predelay now processed to the end of workspace.
  • Device Chain interaction and processing refined.
  • PresetBrowser/SampleBrowser folder bar refined.
  • Regression from 2.6: License Screen on correct z-index again.

A free update for existing users, KickDrum for Windows and Mac (VST3/AU) is currently on sale at a 50% discount as part of a November Sale (regular 44 EUR). Additionally, presets packs with kicks for House, Techno, Drum and Bass, and Hip Hop are now available to purchase for 10 EUR each.
