Pluginomat offers the Beastverb ($69 value) reverb plugin by Beastsamples as a free download for a limited time.
Beastverb is a 64-bit-only plugin for Mac and Windows in VST3 and AU, with AAX support on the way.
Reverb is an invaluable tool for creating atmosphere, depth and dimension in a mix, and there is an increasing amount of excellent alternatives available for free.
We recently covered the best free reverb plugins of 2024 here at BPB in an extensive list, which is definitely worth checking out.
According to Beastsamples, Beastverb is “powerful, yet simple with no need for complex effect chains”. The UI lets you control size, damping, and width to customize your reverb tail.

The plugin also includes a drive knob that saturates the signal before going into the reverb and a filter cutoff to shape the sound.
Pretty standard stuff, in other words. Complex plugins with a million parameters aren’t always what you want, though.
Sometimes, an effective workflow with bread-and-butter-type effects and minimal routing is all you need.
If you want to venture into experimental territory, the Beastverb has you covered with a freeze button that lets you freeze the reverb tail indefinitely, opening up a lot of sonic possibilities based on the input you feed it.
This is definitely the most interesting thing about this plugin. Automating drive, cutoff, and freeze to create different types of pads and then resampling them could be a quick way to spice up a track, for instance.
Other than that, it’s hard to see what the plugin brings to the table if you already own several reverbs.
Personally, I’d never pay the original asking price of $69 for their software with so many great alternatives on the market.
At least it’s offered for free, and if you are on the lookout for a reverb with an experimental twist, this might be the thing for you.
Beastsamples has uploaded a short demo to YouTube, which gives you an idea of what the plugin sounds like:

To download Beastverb, you will need to enter your e-mail and provide some personal information. A bit of a hassle, but nothing out of the ordinary. The deal seems to last for two weeks.
The developer team also added the following note for Windows users:
“Windows users may experience Windows permissions issues along with the .exe file. This may occur because we are new in software development and our products need to gain some reputation for Windows to confirm us. Just ignore the notice and install.”
