Cherry Audio launches ODC 2800 synthesizer inspired by ARP Odyssey

Cherry Audio has announced the release of a modern virtual instrument that celebrates the legacy of synth pioneer Alan R. Pearlman, marking the 100th anniversary of his birth.

Inspired by the iconic ARP Odyssey, the ODC 2800 plugin faithfully recreates all three versions of the original hardware — the Mk I, Mk II, and Mk III — while adding powerful enhancements for today’s producers.

Developed using Mark Barton’s advanced circuit-modeling DSP, ODC 2800 extends far beyond standard emulation. It introduces a third oscillator, additional LFO, expanded modulation routing, smart portamento, and polyphonic performance options including velocity and aftertouch support. These upgrades offer a much broader sonic palette while preserving the distinct character of the original Odyssey synths.

The instrument also features a redesigned effects section with studio-quality processing, over 330 presets, and a streamlined interface with scalable UI. Whether you’re after vintage analog tones or pushing into new territory, ODC 2800 bridges the gap between heritage and innovation — all with Cherry Audio’s trademark performance and ease of use.

Available for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX), ODC 2800 is priced $59 USD at Plugin Boutique and from the Cherry Audio store.
