During a holiday charity stream with Adin Ross, Drake nearly dropped a bombshell when he almost said “F**k Kendrick Lamar” live. The two were giving away money and prizes to people in need, spreading good vibes during the holiday season. As they interacted with fans, Drake was reading some of the fan mail aloud, when he came across a note that said “F**k Kendrick Lamar.” Without thinking, Drake started to say it out loud, but quickly caught himself just in time, stopping before fully saying it.
The moment was awkward, as Drake paused and quickly corrected himself, making it clear that he didn’t want any smoke. Drizzy quickly moved past it, focusing back on the charitable aspect of the stream. It seemed to be an accidental reading, and no further comments were made on the incident. Earlier this year, Drake took legal action against Universal Music Group, accusing the label of manipulating streaming numbers for Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us”. According to the Toronto rapper’s legal team, Universal allegedly used artificial methods to inflate the track’s streams in order to boost its chart performance and create more buzz around the song.
This move comes amid ongoing tension between the two rap giants, with Drake claiming the label’s actions were an attempt to ruin his career. The lawsuit got a lot of people talking, with many rappers and entertainers clowning Drake for getting in his feelings and trying to sue over it.
