Expert-Tested: FEIER Treadmill Star 100 Review (2025)

We test and review fitness products based on an independent, multi-point methodology. If you use our links to purchase something, we may earn a commission. Read our disclosures.

The best treadmills on the market come in all shapes and sizes, mostly because the market consists of varying needs. Somebody may want a premium treadmill with a high-horsepower motor that approaches 4-minute-mile speeds, while others prefer a simple under-desk treadmill that’s good for walking on your lunch break.

Regardless, when a treadmill specializes in one feature, sacrifices might be made in other aspects. Hefty, durable treadmills with spacious running decks take up more space in your home gym.. Likewise, budget-friendly machines will sacrifice some technological capabilities.

Where does the FEIER Star 100 fall in all of this? Despite a decently sized running deck, the Star 100 is one of the more compact treadmills we’ve tested, able to fold down completely and store upright. Priced just above some of our favorite budget treadmills, is it worth the cost? Also, does it make sacrifices anywhere to create this compactness? We’ll discuss this and more in this FEIER Treadmill Star 100 review.

Treadmills May Fold, But Our Experts Don’t

Unlike the best folding treadmills, our fitness experts don’t fold when it comes to providing you with honest and complete reviews. Our team—consisting of certified personal trainers, nutrition coaches, strength and conditioning coaches, and lifelong competitive athletes— brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our hands-on testing, providing you with the best up-to-date information before your next purchase.

For the FEIER Treadmill Star 100, Garage Gym Reviews Everything Lead Reviewer Lindsay Scheele, CPT, CNC, tested out the sleek folding treadmill in multiple inclines and speeds—walking, jogging, and running. She rated the treadmill’s features scores between 1 and 5, including:

  • Workout experience
  • Footprint and portability
  • Durability
  • Tech capabilities
  • Programming
  • Overall value

The FEIER Fitness Star 100 Folding Treadmill is a folding treadmill with a decently sized running deck and compact footprint when stored upright. Although the motor is a bit undersized, this can be a great space-saving solution for casual joggers.

A Quick Look at the FEIER Treadmill Star 100

Founded in 2011, FEIER Fitness has had one goal in mind: creating at-home gym products to help people work out from the convenience and comfort of their homes. While there’s not a large catalog of fitness equipment on their website, the products sold are pretty diverse: a Smith machine, slide board, weight bench, and the FEIER Treadmill.

At-home treadmill running has been shown1 to be just as impactful as outdoor running, so treadmills can be a great choice for home gyms during colder months or April showers—although some people will want to take advantage of the May flowers.

The Star 100 Treadmill has a pretty sleek design and a unique folding capability. Instead of folding the treadmill deck up, you fold the handles and display down toward the belt. Afterward, you can lift the treadmill on wheels and set it upright against a wall. That’s pretty compact, especially considering the sizable 20-inch-by-57-inch running deck—particularly spacious for a compact, foldable treadmill.

The space-saving FEIER treadmill does have some more common compact features. Namely, its motor is only 2 horsepower, a bit smaller than the industry standard. Likewise, the max user weight is 265 pounds, also below standard. Still, the treadmill boasts a maximum speed of over 11 miles per hour and 12 levels of incline.

Before You Buy

  • Bluetooth connectivity can connect the FEIER Treadmill to top running and cycling apps like Anyrun, Kinomap, and Zwift.
  • Financing is available through Klarna, where you can pay in four equal installments over two months. Keep in mind that some customers may have to pay more on their initial payment, depending on how they qualify.
  • The FEIER Star 100 Folding Treadmill boasts 36 different interactive programs. However, you can’t see the programs from the treadmill display; instead you’ll have to read what each program does from the instruction manual, so keep that handy. “It’s not a huge hassle, but something to keep in mind,” says Lindsay.

FEIER Treadmill Star 100 Video Review

Is the FEIER Treadmill Star 100 Worth It?

At $1,500, the FEIER Star 100 is a bit more expensive than some budget treadmills, and around $1,000 more than ultra-budget machines. While the portability and running deck size are top-notch, the treadmill has a motor that’s pretty small compared to its price tag.

The Sole F63, for example, is priced similarly to the FEIER Treadmill—actually cheaper—but boasts a 3-horsepower motor and a weight capacity of 325 pounds. The Proform Carbon TLX comes in even cheaper (under $1,000), and also has the bigger motor and weight capacity.

The big difference that may appeal to some users is that the FEIER Star 100 can fold for flat, upright storage, and is much more compact than these beefier machines I’ve mentioned. Still, there are similarly priced compact treadmills—like the Echelon Stride-6—that still has a larger motor and bigger weight capacity.

Lindsay rates the value a 3.5 out of 5 for the FEIER Treadmill, since there are some better prices for treadmills with larger motors, but this treadmill can still fit certain fitness levels and needs.

“If you need a compact treadmill, this folds down a lot and in one of the most unique ways out of the treadmills I’ve tested,” Lindsay says, adding, “But with its limited horsepower, this would be best for recreational runners who want to use it for a couple miles of walking or jogging each day—nothing super intense.”

Great for:

  • Compact home gyms and small spaces
  • Recreational runners wanting a treadmill for light walking or jogging
  • Treadmill users who want a variety of programming

Not recommended for:

  • Budget shoppers looking for the best deals
  • Higher weight runners
  • Serious runners looking to put a lot of mileage in their treadmill

Using the FEIER Treadmill Star 100

GGR Everything Lead Reviewer and certified personal trainer Lindsay Scheele tested out the FEIER Fitness Star 100 Treadmill through its multiple speeds and inclines. At different speeds, it worked pretty well, although she noted that there was some wobbling and shaking at higher speeds. This is probably due in part to the smaller motor on the treadmill—more on that later.

There are 12 incline levels that are supposed to move up to a 12% incline, but Lindsay didn’t feel the same workout at that incline. “I’ve tested treadmills at that incline before and always felt like it engaged my glutes and hamstrings a lot,” she says. “With this treadmill, I’m just not feeling that. I’m not sure if it’s not quite a true 12% incline or what, but it doesn’t feel as intense of an incline.”

There’s no real way to measure this, but buyers looking for an incline treadmill should be cautious. That said, Lindsay also notes that the movement to each incline position, while slow, is extremely quiet. “I can barely hear it making the adjustment,” she adds, rating her overall workout experience a 4 out of 5.

Footprint and Portability

The Star 100 shines most with its portability, particularly that it can fold upright and take up about 11 inches of depth and 31 inches of width. The FEIER Treadmill uniquely folds down by pressing a button on the deck and releasing the handles down toward the running deck. It folds nearly flat and then can be rolled on wheels and set upright.

The screen is also supposed to fold down, but Lindsay had trouble getting it to fold. We’re not sure if this was a defect, but the site shows images of the treadmill completely folded, and customer reviews and comments also say the screen folds down. So we’ll give it the benefit of a doubt and score the footprint and portability a solid 5 out of 5.

Durability and Construction

“I know I keep saying it, but my biggest callout on this is the motor size,” says Lindsay. “It’s just not a large enough motor for intense running over long distances.” The standard motor size is 2.5-horsepower, but many treadmills at this price range come with 3-horsepower motors. But the FEIER’s 2-horsepower motor won’t be enough for dedicated runners.

Because of the smaller motor, the weight limit on the Star 100 is also limited at 265 pounds. Obviously, this won’t be ideal for larger users, and the capacity is below the industry standard of 275 pounds (many treadmills this price have a 300-pound weight limit). Lindsay rates the durability of the treadmill a 2.5 out of 5 since the motor is below most standards, especially in this price range.

The Ergonomics

Despite being a compact folding treadmill, the FEIER’s running deck is pretty spacious compared to most compact treadmills, with a 57-inch length and 20-inch width. The handles are there for walking, but also not large enough to get in the way while running. Lindsay also likes the cushioning of the treadmill, rating the overall ergonomics a 4 out of 5.

Technology Benefits and Conveniences

The FEIER Treadmill Star 100 doesn’t go above and beyond in the realm of technological benefits and features, but the things it does do, it does pretty well, earning it a 4 out of 5. It has a basic heart rate monitor, as well as an emergency stop clip that’ll stop the tread belt if you fall behind too much on the running deck.

The screen is basic, but clean. “It tells you the basics—heart rate, calories, time, distance—but the display is very clean and modern-looking,” adds Lindsay in her full video review of the treadmill. Other basic screens have almost-archaic looking LCD screens, but the FEIER Treadmill cleans things up with a sleek look.

As far as conveniences go, the treadmill includes some storage shelves in front of the display that can hold your water bottle, keys, or other miscellaneous items during your run. In between the shelves is a wireless phone charger, which you can take advantage of during your longer runs.

Programming

The Star 100 boasts 36 preset workout programs for you to use while running or jogging. With a high number like this, we’d give the programming top marks, except Lindsay notes, “You can switch through the programs using the display, but can’t tell what each program is through it. Instead, you’ll have to refer to the instruction manual’s list of programs.” Flipping back and forth can probably get a little frustrating, but is certainly not a dealbreaker, so it still earns a 4.5 out of 5 for programming.

FEIER Treadmill Star 100 vs Sole F63

Sole F63

Product Highlights

  • Folding treadmill
  • Costs around $1,200
  • Bluetooth speakers, USB port, and cooling fans
  • Powerful 3.0 HP motor

Pros

  • Financing is available
  • Bluetooth speakers
  • USB port
  • Device holder
  • 15 different levels of incline
  • Cushioned deck
  • 20″ W x 60″ L belt
  • 325-lb weight capacity
  • Lifetime frame and motor warranty

Cons

  • Heavy machine
  • No touchscreen

The Sole F63 Treadmill is an affordable option for people who want a powerful, reliable machine that folds without breaking their budget.

Why compare the bulky Sole F63 to the compact FEIER Star 100? Though both are a folding treadmill, the Sole F63 is a larger treadmill all-around, weighing nearly 100 pounds more than the Star 100. Also, the Sole Treadmill folds, but not to the compact level of the FEIER Treadmill.

The main reason to compare is the value and price tag of the two treadmills. The Sole F63 is a larger treadmill, but it also has a more powerful motor, and because of that, a higher weight capacity, too. The deck is larger, too, making this a better option for bigger or taller athletes.

With a larger motor, you’d expect the F63 to be the pricier treadmill, but that’s just not the case. The FEIER Treadmill is $300 more than the Sole F63, which makes the Sole a better value, if you have the space for it. The F63’s lifetime warranty on the frame and motor is also a high-value feature.

Obviously the Star 100 is better for small spaces, albeit a pricier option. If you have the space though, the Sole F63 can be a great add to your home gym. You can read more in our Sole F63 Treadmill review.

Customer Experience

The main gripe we have with the customer experience is the warranty. The FEIER Star 100 is covered for just a year with lifetime technical support, while most treadmills (especially at this price point) offer multi-year warranties on the home fitness equipment.

The return policy is more in line with industry standards, with a 30-day return window. However, the treadmill must be unused and in its original packaging. FEIER will pay for and refund shipping costs if the return was due to their mistake (sending the wrong product, or a quality issue), but if you’re returning it just because you don’t like it, you’ll be responsible for freight costs.

Customer service can be contacted in multiple ways via the FEIER Fitness website: email, phone, or a contact form. There’s also a chat function. According to customer reviews that we’ll get into later, customer service can be a bit hit or miss. Due to this mixed bag of customer experience, we rate the overall customer experience a 3.5 out of 5.

Ordering and Assembling the FEIER Treadmill Star 100

The FEIER Star 100 is available for purchase on the FEIER Fitness website, and not on Amazon (although the home treadmill seems to be searched for a lot on there). Shipping is not included in the cost, so be prepared for that extra charge. Financing is available through Klarna, where you’ll pay in four equal installments. Just know that depending on how or if you qualify, they may ask for a higher initial payment.

Assembly for the FEIER Treadmill is a breeze, mostly because this piece of home gym equipment comes fully assembled. It’ll still be a 160-pound box on arrival, though, so the closer you can have the delivery people drop your box off toward where you want it, the better.

Customer Reviews

As of this writing, the FEIER Star 100 has 97 reviews on the FEIER website, with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars. Many positive product reviews speak highly of the space-saving features of the treadmill, with others liking the program options, and another review enjoying the cushioning of the running deck.

Negative reviews mostly center around customer service issues, although one 3-star review mentions that the 12% incline didn’t feel like 12%, which is something Lindsay noticed as well in her testing. The review also mentions being shocked by static electricity regularly on the treadmill—although I never saw other reviews making the same claim, and we didn’t experience that in our testing.

Customer service issues usually arose from a product arriving damaged and customer service being hard to deal with or nonexistent. One user had the display go bad after just over a year of having the treadmill, and said that customer service said nothing could be done at that point. To FEIER’s credit, they did at least reply to this review and asked for more information.

Final Verdict of Our FEIER Treadmill Star 100 Review

The FEIER Treadmill Star 100 has a lot of nice things going for it—unique space-saving features, 36 programs, and a decently sized, cushioned running deck—but it makes a major sacrifice in its 2-horsepower motor. Because of this, the treadmill will probably not have the longevity needed for a serious runner wanting to put a lot of miles on this treadmill.

“I think there are quite a few worthwhile features on the Star 100,” says Lindsay, after her FEIER Treadmill review. “It’s ideal for somebody to walk on or jog on leisurely…but I wouldn’t recommend it to runners looking for something for intensive running workouts.” Here are a few things to remember before deciding on your purchase:

  • At $1,500 there are quite a few treadmill options at or near the same price that offer a more robust motor, although they may be bulkier than the FEIER Treadmill.
  • The 1-year warranty (and lifetime tech support) is under the standard multi-year warranties we see from most companies and brands.
  • If you’re looking to avoid the hassle of building a treadmill, the Star 100 comes preassembled, plus it folds down easily.
  • While it might be a little overpriced for some at its full price, FEIER does regularly use discount codes and sales, so be on the lookout for these deals.

FEIER Treadmill Star 100: FAQs

What brand is the best for treadmills?

There are plenty of brands that have specialized in treadmills over the years, but one of our favorite brands is NordicTrack, with top treadmills like the NordicTrack Commercial 1750. They’ve been in the business for decades at this point and provide top-notch products and customer service.

You can also find great treadmills from other cardio brands like Sole, Horizon, and ProForm.

What is the best rated folding treadmill?

Our top pick for the best folding treadmill is the Horizon 7.4 AT Treadmill. While it can fold and save space, this treadmill boasts a powerful 3.5 CHP motor and can support a maximum weight of 350 pounds. However, the best pick may not work for each individual, due to space or budget constraints. Check out our best folding treadmills list for more suggestions.

What treadmill speed should I buy?

The treadmill speed you should buy will depend on the fitness goals you have, as well as the intensity of the running workouts you plan to do. If you’re looking for a walking treadmill or walking pad, you won’t need much more than about 4 miles per hour. Beginning runners and leisurely joggers will need a top speed that’s a bit higher (around 7 or 8 miles per hour), and advanced runners should try to find something over 10 miles per hour.

Top treadmill speeds are usually about 12 miles per hour, which would come out to a 5-minute pace. So unless you’re Usain Bolt, that maximum speed should suffice for most people.
