Flame Sound released Cinematic Risers, a free collection of riser sound effects from the premium Blaze SFX ($29) sound library.
The library contains 10 royalty-free cinematic risers in 24-bit WAV format. You can use the included content on YouTube without copyright issues.
The included sounds cover different types of risers, from simple short bursts to longer and more complex tension builders and organic sounds.
Watch the trailer video below to hear the library in action.
Every single sound from the video is included in the free Cinematic Risers collection.
The sounds are intended for use in sound design for video projects, but they also work great for music production. I often layer cinematic risers in the background of my tracks to add tension and make smoother transitions.
You can keep them at a lower volume so they are more “felt” than heard. I prefer using risers in this way than making them the focus point of a breakdown or pre-chorus.
As for Flame Sound, I’m sure most BPB readers already know it’s my sound design label. It’s a fun side project that I really enjoy and a place where I can share my cinematic sound design work.
Making the trailer video for this was a lot of fun, too (I used stock footage in combination with my sounds), and I’m slowly by surely getting to the point where I will actively start making videos for BPB’s YouTube channel.
Making videos is fun, and I’d like to focus on that a bit more in 2025. Would you be interested in watching videos about free VST plugins, or should I focus more on other topics, such as sound design or music production tutorials?
By the way, Flame Sound is currently running a $9 sale on the new Pyro SFX Cinematic Sound Design Kit, and BPB readers can get an additional discount (more information in the article).
You will also get 50 addition tension builders for free when purchasing Pyro SFX. So if you like the free sounds from this kit, you can get 50 of those and 260 more sounds for just $9 until Cyber Monday.
