SoundID Reference headphone calibration by Sonarworks is now 50% off at Plugin Boutique until March 15th.
For a limited time, you can get the plugin for €51.04 at Plugin Boutique. It comes with over 500 calibration profiles to balance out your headset’s natural sound.
This helps make your listening experience flatter and more accurate across all frequencies.

Every headset has its own sound and frequency response. While headphones with big bass and boosted mids can be fun, the reality is that they often make mixing and producing music harder.
When your mix fails the dreaded car test for the tenth time, when the magnificent stereo reverbs that sound so pristine in your cans make your track into an undifferentiated slop, or when all that warm lower midrange suddenly disappears as soon as you play your track through speakers?
Congratulations, your mix didn’t translate at all. We’ve all been there.
This can lead to not trusting your headphones, doubting your skills, and making choices that hurt your mix and your confidence.
SoundID Reference removes most of the guesswork and gives you a flat sound to work with. If you want more control, you can use target curves and three filter modes to adjust your monitoring setup.
It can be a set-and-forget application in your monitoring chain, or if you’re more of a nerdy type with special needs, have at it.
The plugin also includes a library of 20 room simulations that can give you an idea of how your mix will translate to different rooms with their own acoustic profiles. If your mix sounds consistent without any dramatic shortcomings, you know you’re in the ballpark.
It’s easy to forget how unnatural the headphone listening experience is (that’s probably why a lot of us love it too, to be honest). The unnatural separation of sound on each side of your head, beaming directly into your ear canals, creates a detailed, rich, and immersive experience.
Reproducing this through speakers is, quite frankly, impossible, but you can at least mitigate some of the potential destructive side effects of a headphone-centric mix.
The deal lasts until March 15th. and is 50% of the original asking price. Quite the steal, especially if it helps your mixes translate and then possibly improves your sleep in the process.
Last year, Altitude Audio released its Crossfeed plugin. Crossfeed does what it says and subtly lets you blend the L and R channels in your headphones to create a more realistic speaker-like listening experience. This is without any frequency correction, but it might still be a useful tool, free of charge.
By the way, owners of Beyerdynamic headphones can get the calibration plugin Headphone Lab, which we’ve covered here at BPB, for free.
