A Quick Look at the Heavenly Heat Sauna
What stands out about Heavenly Heat Saunas is the brand’s commitment to holistic health and wellness. All Heavenly Heat Saunas are built without adhesives like wood glue, paint or stains, or plywood, which is a super common (and affordable) wood product made from gluing layers of wood veneer together.
The brand eliminates these types of construction materials to reduce the potential of toxic chemicals being released when the sauna heats up—also known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The brand also tests its saunas to minimize electromagnetic fields (EMF) and ELF to reduce time and exposure to potentially harmful levels.

Is the Heavenly Heat Sauna Worth It?
In general, home sauna costs are not cheap. The best portable saunas we’ve tested run anywhere from $200 to $2,000 while traditional saunas are priced between $3,000 to $10,000 depending on the size and heating design.
That said, the Heavenly Heat 2-person sauna is priced at $5,600 (at the time of writing this review). It’s not cheap, but it’s also not outrageous compared to the competition. Our team scored the sauna a 4 out of 5 stars for price and value.
Expert tester and CPT Lindsay Scheele says the price reflects quality craftsmanship. “I feel like that’s a pretty decent price. That’s considering the high-quality build, Canadian hemlock wood, and low-EMF and ELF sauna heaters,” she says.
GGR Head of Content and CPT Nicole Davis also tested the Heavenly Heat Sauna and notes that while the up-front price may not work for everyone’s budget, there are financing options to break up the payments into smaller installments.
“If you prioritize eco-consciousness and work to actively reduce your exposure to electromagnetic fields, this may be the right option for you,” says Nicole. “The brand takes pride in eliminating Bluetooth accessories, cable shielding, and not treating wood with stains or glue.”

Using the Heavenly Heat Sauna
Our testers, Lindsay and Nicole, both enjoyed their sauna bathing sessions in the Heavenly Heat 2-person sauna. Nicole tested the sauna for a single session, while Lindsay completed multiple sauna sessions.
Lindsay was able to test the heat performance during the heat-up process, at max temperature, and after entering and exiting the sauna. Both of our experts used the control panel to set the temperature, time, and adjust the LED chromotherapy lighting.
Other than temp, time, and lighting the sauna doesn’t offer a ton of extra features. However, this sauna still ranks highly with our testers because of the high-quality construction that keeps your general health and wellness in mind.
Footprint and Ergonomics
The Heavenly Heat 2-person sauna isn’t the biggest infrared sauna we’ve tested, but it’s not the smallest either. The sauna weighs 320 pounds, and exterior dimensions are 47 inches wide, 41 inches deep, and 75 inches tall.
From our experience, both Linday and Nicole agree two people in this sauna will be a snug fit. Considering it’s meant for home use, we don’t think you’ll mind sitting close to your friends and family, but it’s worth knowing before you buy.
While it may be snug, Lindsay says you won’t feel claustrophobic in this sauna. “The tempered glass makes it feel more spacious and gives you a better view of your surroundings,” she explains. “You won’t feel boxed in.”

The interior width is 43 inches from wall to wall, but the bench is 41 inches wide, which means you and your pal only get 20.5 inches of sitting room per person. The bench is 17 inches deep, so you’ll have plenty of room to sit back.
However, Lindsay has a few callouts on the ergonomics of the bench. “My long legs could use a few more inches of depth on the bench, but most folks will be OK. I’d also prefer a flat bench. This one has a slight contour running through the middle which I don’t like when I’m alone sitting sideways.”
Durability and Construction
When it comes to construction, the Heavenly Heat 2 Person Infrared Sauna gets a 4-star rating. The exterior is constructed from non-resinous Canadian hemlock wood, which is hypoallergenic.
The walls, heaters, and components are fastened with heavy-duty nails or screws, not glued together, to reduce volatile organic compounds (VOC) that can off-gas at high temperatures. You won’t find any plywood, glue, and stain on the cabin for this reason. The brand also undergoes third-party testing for VOCs.
Heavenly Heat also uses low EMF and ELF heaters, grounded faraday shielding, cable shielding, and no radio frequencies.

Heat Performance
While the brand claims the sauna can reach max temperature within 10 to 15 minutes, neither of our testers found that timeframe accurate. Lindsay and Nicole both report the Heavenly Heat Sauna took 25-30 minutes to reach the maximum temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
While that’s not a bad warm-up time, we think it’s worth you knowing before you get too excited about a super fast heat-up process. That said, Lindsay got in while the sauna was still getting up to temperature and started to sweat fairly quickly. She scored the heat performance category 4 out of 5 stars.
“I got in around 130 degrees and I started to sweat, which has not happened while testing other saunas during the pre-heating phase,” says Lindsay. “I think the placement of the carbon heaters on the walls of the sauna contributes to raising your core temperature quickly.”
Lindsay also notes that hemlock is humidity-resistant and holds the temperature. “I always get in and out of the sauna quite a few times and this one held solid at 165 degrees,” she says.
The Heavenly Heat Sauna can be set to your preferred temperature (up to to 165 degrees) and you can set a timer. That means if you like to have interval sauna sessions, you can step in and out for up to 60 minutes without having to reset the heat.

Ordering and Assembling the Heavenly Heat Sauna
Lindsay and the GGR assembly experts scored the Heavenly Heat Sauna 4 out of 5 stars. While the assembly was smooth, a point was docked because there was no professional assembly option at checkout.
The good news is that you won’t need experts—you can do it yourself. And you won’t need to call an electrician, either. The two-person Heavenly Heat infrared sauna can be plugged into any standard 3-prong, 15 amp, 110/120 volt outlet.
“It took two people about 45 minutes to get the sauna cabin built and up and running,” says Lindsay. “The assembly team didn’t need additional instructions because the instruction manual that came with the sauna was sufficient.”

Customer Reviews
At the time of writing this review, there are only a handful of 5-star reviews featured on the homepage of www.heavenlyheatsaunas.com. The few customer reviews on the website are all positive and note Heavenly Heat offers the cleanest, most chemically pure saunas on the market.

Final Verdict of Our Heavenly Heat Sauna Review
The Heavenly Heat Far Infrared 2-person sauna may not have fancy bells and whistles (like built-in sound systems and entertainment) but we appreciate the no-frills design. While it’s not a minor investment to your home gym or recovery routine, we think the commitment to the eco-friendly materials and construction will be worth it for many folks.
Our main callout is the 41-inch-long sauna bench, which may be a snug fit for two people. Other than the small and intimate design, this sauna has holistic health in mind:

What are the downsides of infrared saunas?
One potential downside to infrared saunas is that they don’t get quite as hot as traditional saunas. However, the infrared heat waves are able to penetrate the skin and muscles a bit deeper, so it’s not necessarily a bad thing that the ambient temperature isn’t as high.
A few other downsides to general sauna bathing are dehydration, overheating, and blood pressure changes. That said, sauna sessions are not recommended for people who have high blood pressure, heart issues, cardiac disease, or while pregnant or nursing.
