IK Multimedia T-RackS Tape Echo is FREE at Audio Plugin Deals

IK Multimedia’s T-RackS Tape Echo, a faithful recreation of the classic Echoplex EP3, is now available for free at Audio Plugin Deals for a limited time.

T-RackS Tape Echo brings the warmth and musical saturation of vintage tape delays straight into your DAW.

The plugin is modeled after the iconic hardware from 1969. It captures everything from the subtle tape hiss and wow & flutter to the lush, organic delay trails that defined a generation of recordings. And needless to say, it’s absolutely perfect for that magical slapback guitar tone and vocal ambience we all love.

This delay plugin has quickly become one of my personal favorites. Despite already owning a ridiculous number of delays, Tape Echo stands out with its character.

It’s not just another analog emulation. It’s honestly one of the best-sounding tape delays I’ve ever used when it comes to software. From smooth and subtle tape delays à la Pink Floyd to chaotic, modulated madness for modern electronic music, it handles it all beautifully.

One thing to keep in mind: Tape Echo runs within the T-RackS CS standalone app or as a module in your DAW. You’ll need to install T-RackS Custom Shop, which includes a few extra steps.

Once you’re up and running, it integrates seamlessly into your workflow along with the other plugins in your DAW.

Control-wise, things are pretty straightforward. You can push the preamp gain for extra grit or crank the wow and flutter for lo-fi vibes. Delay time is syncable to BPM, and you can explore stereo configurations with two independently controlled delay lines.

The Volume A/B knobs act as dry/wet controls for each stereo channel, letting you fine-tune the balance between the original and delayed signals.

I appreciate how IK Multimedia didn’t just model the tape path. They also captured the character of the EP3’s class A electronics, as well as the hum from vintage power lines. So there’s plenty of analog coloration options to work with if you want that surf rock slapback, moody vocal echo, or spacey FX.

T-RackS Tape Echo is available in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for Windows (7 or newer) and macOS (10.10 or newer). You’ll need a 64-bit CPU and OS, and an internet connection to activate via the Custom Shop. No word yet on when the deal ends, so grab it while you can.
