Imaginando has announced an update to its complete music production studio for desktop and mobile. Version 1.7.2 of BAM Beat Maker & Music Maker brings a visual overhaul, alongside a batch of workflow improvements and fixes that make everyday use smoother.
The headline feature of this update: Compressor, Delay and Phaser now have brand new, custom-designed graphical panels.
Instead of relying on generic controls, each engine now has its own purpose-built interface, designed to make the parameters more intuitive to read and faster to tweak. It’s the same powerful engines under the hood, now with a UI that actually feels like it belongs to them.
Other changes in the update:
- Force phone/tablet layout (iOS & Android): Override automatic screen-size detection and pick your layout manually.
- Copy, paste, import and export MIDI mappings: Reuse a mapping setup across projects instead of rebuilding it each time. Also play, stop, record, undo, redo, clear locks, shift and panel selector mappings are now global mappings and persist across patch loads.
- Bigger Matrix clips: Scale the clip grid up to 3x, with an independent width for the master scene column.
- Melody generator octave range: New Root, High and Low controls in the Composer’s generate popup.
- Reworked Composer scroll & zoom: Drag to zoom or pan, tap to center, double-tap to fit, and use the mouse wheel (or Ctrl+wheel) on desktop.
- “Only While Recording” metronome: The click stays active only during recording.
- Various bugs fixed.
A free update for existing users, BAM for Windows and macOS (VST/VST3, AU) is available to purchase for €109 EUR or rent-to-own for €9.90 EUR/month. BAM is also available for iOS/AUv3 at the App Store and from Android from Google Play.
