InnerMono has released a collection of almost 30 free racks for Ableton Live.

Like a hardware FX rack or a software rack that hosts multiple effects in a single plugin, Ableton Live racks provide a streamlined workflow for manipulating multiple effects from a single device (rack).

From what I understand, Ableton Live has various rack types, including audio effects, MIDI effects, Instruments, and drums.

I’m not an Ableton Live user, so those who are go a bit deeper on racks in the comments.

However, I do know that artists and producers often sell signature racks to create another revenue stream.

In this case, InnerMono created these racks as part of an audio engineering course and made them available for free on the InnerMono website.

There are almost 30 racks available across the following categories:

  • Creative FX
  • Texture
  • EQ
  • MIDI
  • Reverb
  • Multi FX
  • Saturation
  • Sidechain
  • Synth
  • Trance Gate
  • Utility
  • Width

These racks are a mix of custom creations and clones of existing plugins/effects.

One of the third-party plugins that InnerMono has tried to clone is iZotope’s FXEQ (Blender rack).

You also have the Vector rack, a parallel multi-band saturation, heavily inspired by Wavesfactory’s Spectre.

Plugins like Spectre can get pretty pricey (around £89, in this case), so it’s always worth giving something a try if it could get you to the same place for free.

If you’re an Ableton user, have a look through the list of racks, and I’m sure you’ll find some useful stuff. I imagine feedback would be very helpful for someone working toward their HND in audio engineering (so, as always, feel free to share in the comments).

As part of this current project, InnerMono plans to release a sample pack featuring classic synths like the Yamaha TX81Z and the Roland JV-1080.

The sample pack is expected at the end of March 2026.

On the subject of classic synths, don’t forget to check out Ultramaster KR-106, a free and open-source Roland Juno-inspired synth plugin. It’s not a perfect Juno by any means, but it certainly takes you on a bit of a sonic and visual time warp.
