J. Cole understands the importance of conversations in and around hip hop, and has taken a commendable step in curating discussions and viewpoints by launching his latest ‘The Fall Off‘ magazine.
A 144-page endeavour, the magazine will be available for purchase in person in Charlotte, North Carolina, although it will also be available for online orders. The announcement of the magazine also marks the beginning of rollout and promotions for J. Cole’s upcoming world tour, in the aftermath of his latest album release.
According to a release describing the nature of the magazine, ‘The Fall Off’ magazine will bring together more than 60 writers, photographers, illustrators, designers and artists to facilitate conversations and reflections on hip hop’s glorious past, the documentation of its present, and contemplations on the culture’s future. These include articles/ other conversation pieces by Lauryn Hill, JID, Glorilla, Larry June & more.
The magazine also hints at reviews of culturally important, fan favorite and critically acclaimed albums (likely by Killer Mike, Yachty, RZA and BIA) although this part is mere conjecture inferred from the magazine cover.
Here’s a look at the cover that has recently been made public!
In essence, the project is an ode to the “spirit of rap magazines that shaped generations,” as described by an official promotional note.
