JBL launches its latest line of studio monitors, the 3 Series MKIII – here's what's new

JBL has launched its 3 Series MKIII line of powered studio monitors. The range includes three sizes ranging from 5″ to 8″ drivers: the 305P MkIII, 306P MkIII and 308P MkIII. The series is completed by the 310S MKIII powered subwoofer, which complements a speaker setup with a 10-inch driver.

All monitors in the range come with built-in mounting options making it simple to set them up in any desired configuration from 2.1 to spatial. Plus with multiple sizes available, they’re fit for all manner of professional applications including music production, podcasting and video editing.

These are the first JBL monitors to have Class D amplification, which helps with higher output volume, more headroom, and decreased functional noise. They also have balanced Neutrik inputs and adjustable +4 dBu/-10 dBV input levels for maximum compatibility with simple introductory gear and professional mixing consoles.

But no matter how easy it is to set up the speakers or how good they sound on their own, studio monitors needs proper room optimisation to ensure the final mix is ready for release. That’s why the 3 Series MkIII have four one-touch room controls. These account for 81 corrective EQ combinations, measuring wall distance and high and low frequency adjustment all without any external software. Just press the button and speaker takes care of the work.

Once the speakers are in the right spot around the room, the rebuilt  tweeters and woofers will keep the sound crisp and even. The tweeters implements the JBL Image Control Waveguide for consistent listening throughout the space. The woofer uses more rigid materials for the cone as well as upgraded magnet assemblies and aluminium shorting rings for more power with less distortion.

The JBL Professional 3 Series MKIII Powered Studio Monitors are available now in Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. They will be available in North America on January 7, 2027.
