Karanyi Sounds announced that Minipol, a virtual analog synthesizer for macOS and Windows, is available for a limited time during the holiday season.
You can grab your free copy by visiting the promo page on Karanyi Sounds’ website and entering your name and email address. Once you do that, Minipol lands in your inbox, no payment required. Considering its usual $49 price, this is a solid seasonal freebie.
Also, this isn’t the first time Minipol has been offered for free. We covered the previous giveaway back in 2023. But if you missed that one, here’s another chance to add Minipol to your arsenal for free.
Minipol is a streamlined virtual analog synth designed to keep things simple while still giving you access to classic analog synth sounds.
It focuses on the core elements of subtractive synthesis, making it a good starting point if you’re still learning the basics of synth programming. That said, it does this while remaining fun and useful for more experienced producers who want quick results when tweaking their synths.
Minipol delivers the classic analog staples: basses, leads, pads, and keys. A quick look at the interface shows that the synthesis engine is intentionally simplified compared to larger flagship analog-style synths, but that’s part of its charm.

I think Minipol works particularly well as a learning tool. The synth’s limited but well-chosen controls make it easier to understand how oscillators, envelopes, filters, and modulation interact.
At the same time, you’re not forced to build everything from scratch because there’s a generous preset library to explore (and tweak) right away.
The built-in effects section is another reason why this one is a good pick for beginners. You get delay, chorus, EQ-style tone shaping, and reverb, all neatly integrated into the signal chain.
These effects are simple but effective and help turn basic patches into finished sounds without reaching for extra plugins.
However, my favorite feature is the smart randomizer. It lets you randomize the entire synth or target specific sections of the signal path.
So if you’re feeling stuck, press the randomizer a few times to stumble upon interesting and sometimes unexpected sounds you probably wouldn’t have dialed in manually.
Minipol is compatible with macOS 10.15 or newer (Intel and Apple Silicon) and Windows 10 or newer. It’s available in VST, AU, and AAX formats and requires a 64-bit compatible DAW.
