Kehlani is all set to launch her self titled album, and the track she has just put out with Missy Elliott is a proof of just how much of a statement it is going to be. The song that leads the album is called ‘Back and Forth,’ and is a perfect coming together of the worlds of RnB and hip hop.
The full album is set to come out on April 24th, Kehlani’s birthday, and will follow up on the acclaimed 2024 album Crash. On another note, it has been rather refreshing to see Missy take to experimentation in recent years, striking unexpected collaborations like Skrillex.

What remains to be seen is whether or not Kehlani will deliver on her upcoming album. Naming an album after yourself is such a statement piece, and naturally, a lot of pressure. But so far, it seems as though pressure is nothing much to Kehlani — from impeccable live performances alone and with Cardi B, to boldly releasing new music. Let’s see what awaits!
