Jay-Z is all over the news, having kicked off the Jay-Z30 rollout in celebration of 30 years of his classic album, Reasonable Doubt. The momentum began picking up rather recently, when Jay began sporting a fro on stage, kicking off a freestyle aimed at everyone who he has had issues with at the Roots Picnic event.
Out of the many shots he took with his bars, one was aimed at Lance ‘Un’ Rivera, who was at the short end of the stick in a stabbing incident. Now, Rivera has chosen to respond to the hip hop mogul in a rare and vulnerable interview setting facilitated by ‘The Art Of Discussion’ podcast.
Rivera first revealed the open letter, which was full of graceful praise directed towards Jay-Z in recognition of his impact on the black community. Rivera commended Jay-Z’s ability to navigate struggle and hardships and self improvement, and reaching a high pedestal both culturally and financially.
However, upon concluding the open letter, he also spoke on how he also has trauma from the incident where he was apparently outnumbered and stabbed, and that he feels that Jay-Z marketing the incident to appear tough in public. Rivera acknowledged Jay-Z for speaking on traumas and healing, but emphasised that he is traumatised too. Check out the clip below!
