Plugin Boutique’s monthly free gifts have provided some of my favorite deals over the last few years, and they are now back with their March Gifts available with any purchase at Plugin Boutique.
This month, we have a choice of three plugins:
- Diginoiz Distiller
- Audiomodern Riffer
- Celemony Melodyne 5 Essential
Although we have three plugins to choose from, we have to meet spending requirements to unlock all options.
In this case:
- Distiller is free with any paid purchase.
- Riffer is unlocked when you spend $49 or more.
- Melodyne 5 Essential is unlocked when you spend $99 or more.
The idea is that Plugin Boutique can offer a higher-tier free gift by ensuring we spend a certain amount. And, in some instances, that will be great.
But, I can’t help but feel some customers will miss the old method, when any purchase qualified for all choices (even if they were of lesser monetary value).
I absolutely love Plugin Boutique, and anything that comes free with a purchase is awesome. My issue is that bedroom producers don’t always have $99 to drop on a new plugin, and rather than enjoying the option to unlock higher value gifts, many might feel more restricted.
Anyway, on to the gifts.
Distiller combines 29 filter types and 15 distortion types, each controlled by a separate LFO.

Because you can set different LFO shapes and settings for the filter cutoff and distortion mix, you can transform simple sounds beyond recognition.
You can also be more subtle, but Distiller shines brightest when adding more grit, dirt, and movement.
Riffer is a MIDI tool that creates musical riffs and sequences based on a bunch of user-defined parameters.
It triggers any virtual instrument you choose, and you can select from over 50 scales, set complexity, probability, pitch, steps, length values, and more.
There are a lot of parameters to play with, but, in short, it’s a sequencer that generates new patterns when you’re in a creative jam.
Melodyne 5 Essential might be the entry-level version of Celemony’s flagship product, but it’s still a powerful tool.
If you need to edit vocals quickly, particularly musically adjusting pitch and timing, Melodyne has long been the industry standard for many professionals.
Melodyne 5 Essential might be enough for many bedroom producers, but you’ll have to spend at least $99 to unlock it.
Feel free to share what you went for in the comments!
