Mariah Carey is back.
The vocal powerhouse and everyone’s favorite elusive chanteuse announced on Monday (July 21) that her 16th studio album will be out on Sept. 26.
Previously called “MC16” by her adoring lambily, the forthcoming LP is actually titled Here For It All.
Carey shared the news on Instagram. In the announcement video, she’s seen wearing a black catsuit with patent leather thigh-high boots, walking in front of a backdrop with the album title written over and over in her signature font. She also sang in her classic falsetto, “I’m here for it all!” It appears she may have unveiled the album cover— shown at the end of the video and as the still image on Instagram.
Back in June, she dropped the LP’s lead single, “Type Dangerous” — and just shared an accompanying EP featuring a series of remixes in collaboration with Method Mad, Redman, Busta Rhymes, Big Sean, and others — and teased another single titled “Sugar Sweet.”
“Type Dangerous” earned Carey her 50th Billboard Hot 100 hit, marking her first nonseasonal song to reach the Hot 100 since “I Don’t” with YG came out in 2017.
Since then, Carey’s signed to Larry Jackson and L.A. Reid’s gamma.. Reid executive produced Here For It All under his subsidiary, mega.. “It is a game-changing moment because it’s one of our premier stars who has made a decision to join forces with an independent, self-contained company that is not associated with any of the major labels,” said Reid in a statement. “It’s a game changer for both gamma. and Mariah.”
Here For It All marks Carey’s first proper album since 2018’s Caution. A full track listing has not yet been released.
