The Bellarie family (and their drama) is far from over. Although Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black was originally expected to end after two seasons, Netflix has reversed course and will continue the series.
Perry announced the news with Beauty in Black stars Taylor Polidore Williams, who plays Kimmie, and Crystle Stewart, who stars as Mallory. In a newly viral clip posted on Thursday (July 23), Perry and the actresses excitedly shared that new episodes for Season 4 are in the works.
“Beauty in Black is back for Season 4, and the Bellarie family’s story is far from finished,” Perry shared in a statement on Tudum. “There was so much more I wanted to explore, and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story. To the audience that has been on this ride with us from day one, thank you for watching and sharing it with the world. More episodes are on the way!”
In the meantime, viewers can look forward to the upcoming drama of Season 3. According to Netflix, “In Season 3, Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) finally has a seat at the Bellarie table, but holding on to her newfound power won’t be easy. When a deadly family feud erupts, she’s forced into an uneasy alliance with Mallory (Crystle Stewart). Together, they navigate a ruthless world of blackmail, revenge, and buried secrets as the family wages war against one of its own, threatening to bring the entire Bellarie empire crashing down.”
The Beauty in Black cast features Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield, and Debbi Morgan. The series’ producers include Angi Bones and Tony Strickland for Tyler Perry Studios, with music from Wow Jones and Jimijame$.
The premiere dates for Seasons 3 and 4 have yet to be revealed.
