Today is Friday, which means there are a ton of new releases to look forward to from some of your favorite Hip-Hop artists. To help you unwind and enjoy the weekend, check out VIBE’s picks of songs and albums you should hear and add to your soundtrack of weekend festivities.

  • Rob49 – ‘Let Me Fly’

Rob49’s Let Me Fly cements his place as one of the South’s most compelling voices, blending gritty realism with high-powered features and slick production.

Tracks like “Get The Picture” and “JetWifi” reunite him with Birdman, adding New Orleans flair, while “So Sexyy” with Sexyy Red and YTB Fatt offers a playful, club-ready detour.

On “High Or What,” Quavo floats over woozy melodies, but it’s Rob’s solo cuts—“Where I’m From” and “Widebody”—that showcase his growth. Let Me Fly isn’t just a victory lap; it’s a confident leap forward. – Preezy Brown

  • BossMan Dlow – ‘Dlow Curry (Deluxe)’

BossMan Dlow doubles down on his breakout year with the deluxe release of Dlow Curry, adding eight new tracks that further solidify his place as one of 2024’s most electric new voices in hip-hop.

The expanded edition includes standout solo tracks like “Up,” “Money Talks,” “Dogsh*t Talker,” and the menacing “Get Stretched,” all delivered with Dlow’s raw, unfiltered intensity.

The highlight, though, is “Hit” featuring Gucci Mane—a heavyweight collaboration that blends street bravado with Southern legend energy. Dlow capitalizes on his momentum and makes one thing clear: he’s here to stay. – PB

  • NBA YoungBoy – “Top Tingz”

YoungBoy Never Broke Again “Top Tingz” cover artYoungBoy Never Broke Again “Top Tingz” cover art

YoungBoy NBA’s “Top Tingz” is a mid-tempo record, loaded with his signature drawl-tinged croon and endless sexually explicit lyrics.

If whoever he is involved with wants to know the depths of his desires for her, look no further than this record. That’s not his only offering this weekend, though, as it was coupled with “Finest.”

This track appeals more to the vulnerable side of YB, describing how he wants to do better and is seeking God’s guidance.

It is reminiscent of his Billboard interview, where he said he wanted to be more conscious of the pain he has caused people and how he influences children. Good on him. – Armon Sadler

  • 42 Dugg – “We Not Done”

You know how this 42 Dugg song started: with his signature whistle. “We Not Done” has an anthemic feel to it, with the backing vocals on the “we not done” chorus.

It’s actually one of his better and more memorable choruses in quite some time, filling the gaps between the prominent chorus with some strong lines.

He continues that flow and cadence in the verses, almost like a methodical bench press set filled with consistent breaths.

There is a nice fluidity to this trap record, and the drums and hi-hats make it hit even harder. Dugg did good work here. – AS

  • Larry June, Cardo Got Wings – “Black Man”

Larry June & Cardo Got Wings “Black Man” cover artLarry June & Cardo Got Wings “Black Man” cover art

Larry June and Cardo Got Wings are back with “Black Man.” Their canvas is another smooth, low-rider fitting beat.

The message is powerful, reflecting on the peace and success that Black men pursue, but also the vices they often fall into.

June’s rap archetype is the equivalent of women’s “soft life” movement, so he counters all of the negativity with the way he likes to life his life.

That includes removing dramatic women, troublesome men, and any other distractions from his life. This is a soothing track and his calm cadence furthers that feeling. “Black Man” is a winner. – AS

  • YG Featuring Shoreline Mafia – “Hollywood”

YG Feat. Shoreline Mafia “Hollywood” cover artYG Feat. Shoreline Mafia “Hollywood” cover art

YG and Shoreline Mafia leaned fully into their West Coast DNA on “Hollywood.” The beat is smooth, reminiscent of something from the early 90s coming from NWA.

Their flows are bouncy and fun, allowing the record to create even more of a vibe that all generations of rap fans can enjoy. This is a refreshing effort from YG, who has admittedly been cold for a few years.

Shoreline Mafia has been fan favorites for a while, so it’s nice to hear them on a track that could ring off. And Joey Bada$$ will surely have something to say about his name being mentioned, given the bi-coastal rap feud going on right now. – AS

  • Boldy James, Your Boy Posca – ‘Magnolia Laflore’

With Magnolia Lefore, his seventh full-length project of the year, Boldy James proves once again that consistency doesn’t have to compromise quality.

Split evenly between raw, introspective raps and lush instrumentals, the album is a meditative, slow-burn listen. “Nancy Botwin” rides over jazzy textures, while “Clorox,” produced by Mike Shabb, lays Boldy’s steely delivery over rolling guitars.

But it’s “Fifty Deuce Cut Em Loose” that steals the show—gritty, vivid, and unmistakably Detroit. Magnolia Lefore is a quiet flex and one of the week’s strongest drops. – PB

  • BJack$ – “Doonies”

BJack$ “Doonies” cover artBJack$ “Doonies” cover art
Image Credit: 2025 B Jacks Music LLC

BJack$ is riding the wave of momentum his high-energy records have brought over this last year. “Doonies” is a Jersey-tinged, house-influenced, booty-shaking anthem along the same ilk or “Get Jiggy” but even more frantic.

The slizzy artist is all about the women, thus the refrain of “I’m trying to get in them doonies” was fitting. He proudly flexes how he continues to grow despite not dropping a project yet, with “Sunday” and “Get Jiggy” keeping the fans well fed.

So this Memorial Day Weekend, join the New Jersey artist by taking a few shots, getting sturdy, and finding the slizziest lover you can find. – AS

  • DJ.Fresh & The Musalini – ‘Live And Let Fly’

DJ.Fresh & The Musalini - 'Live And Let Fly' Cover ArtDJ.Fresh & The Musalini - 'Live And Let Fly' Cover Art
Image Credit: ℗ 2025 Perfect Time Music Group

Live and Let Fly, the new collaborative effort from DJ.Fresh and The Musalini, is a smooth, focused listen that lives up to its cinematic title.

The Musalini’s slick, luxury-laced bars glide effortlessly over DJ.Fresh’s soulful, boom-bap-driven production, creating a cohesive sound rooted in classic East Coast cool.

Standouts like “Players Ball” featuring Planet Asia and Silent Snipers, “Polo Scarf,” and the introspective “Can’t Buy Love” strike the perfect balance between grit and groove.

It’s one of the week’s most satisfying releases—refined, confident, and built for replay. – PB

  • Cupid, Bun B, Paul Wall – “The Cookout”

Cupid returns with a fresh dose of feel-good energy on his new single “The Cookout,” featuring Southern legends Bun B and Paul Wall.

Produced by Rodnae The Boss, the track blends laid-back grooves with that unmistakable Southern charm, delivering a line dance-ready anthem just in time for summer gatherings.

True to form, Cupid—the Line Dance King—keeps the vibe joyful and unifying, while Bun B and Paul Wall add a layer of OG cool. It’s a standout among this week’s releases and a must-add to your summer playlist. – PB
