AI mastering tools get a lot of mediocre reviews, but the fact of the matter is that you need to load in a reference track in order to get the best results. That’s a multi-step process in that you have to download a desired track, then upload it to the tool and have it learn its level and EQ parameters before they can be applied to your song. MMatcher by MeldaProduction bypasses those steps by having the profile of thousands of hit songs already built in to the plugin.

MeldaProduction MMatcher

MMatcher actually does three things all integral to a great master. As stated above, it will apply the level and tonal curve of a song that you like onto the mix of your track, it will do the same for individual instruments, and it can be used to calibrate your monitor speakers and headphones.

Spectrum And Level Matching

Achieving precise sonic matching with MMatcher involves just two simple steps: first, analyzing the recording being worked on, then matching that to a reference from the plugin’s extensive database of songs. MeldaProduction has already analyzed thousands of successful songs from all different genres to provide a foundation for matching and referencing. If you have a track that’s not already in its database, no problem. You can also load in any track so that it can be used as a reference audio source.

MMatcher also provides a separate database of dry electric guitar and bass sounds, created by analyzing samples from hundreds of instruments sent by the company’s users. The plugin simplifies the process of achieving desired guitar and bass tones by analyzing your guitar sound input and comparing it to these references so you can either achieve a completely different sound from what you have, or just make the one you have sound better.

Speaker And Headphone Calibration

The plugin can also adjust headphone responses by selecting the headphone model being used from its headphone database (you can also analyze one that’s not already listed) to correct the frequency response. It can calibrate studio monitors as well by creating custom correction profiles based on measurement microphone analysis, which leads to a more balanced response across your listening position.

You’d think that you’d pay a lot of a plugin with these powerful capabilities, but MMatcher is currently on sale with an introductory price of just $21 (normally $111). Yes, there’s a free trial period, and it works on Macs and PCs and most plugin varieties.
