There are times when you want to zero in on a frequency and all you need is a good old-fashioned 31-band spectrum analyzer to quickly tell you what you need to know. If that’s you, then you’ll be happy to hear that PSPaudioware recently announced the release of PSP Spector, a precise and completely free 31-band spectrum analyzer plugin for macOS and Windows (AAX, AU, VST, VST3).

Originally introduced as PSP Spector PSPEC-31 within PSPaudioware’s EQ plugins PSP ConsoleQ2 and PSP preQursor3, PSP Spector is now available as an independent plugin, offering users real-time spectral analysis without having to worry about signal coloration.
Designed for both mixing and mastering applications, PSP Spector provides Peak and RMS measurements, as well as a range of visual customization options that allow users to tailor the display to their workflow.
It also provides the ability to listen in stereo, either Left or Right channel soloed, or combined together into mono.
Key Features include:
- Selectable dB range for flexible metering precision
- Adjustable 0dB reference level
- Channel selection – choose which channel(s) to display
- Customizable peak hold time
- Peak display options – mark lines or smooth curve view
- RMS display options – bars or curve view
- Built-in High-Pass Filter for low-frequency control
- 15 tutorial factory presets for quick learning and setup
- Adjustable interface size to fit your workflow
The plugin is free to all PSP users. Access to the download links is provided when you log into your existing account, or create a new free account in the PSPaudioware User Area.
