Nicki Minaj supports Cantor Fitzgerald’s fundraiser as footage of AOC and Zohran Mamdani fuels a MAGA dispute over 9/11.
Nicki Minaj honored September 11 victims while attending Cantor Fitzgerald’s Charity Day in New York City on Friday.
“Honoring the heroes & loved ones today in our great city. #NeverForget 9/11,” Minaj wrote on X alongside the hashtags “#CantorFitzgerald” and “#NYC.”
That hashtag identifies Cantor Fitzgerald’s annual fundraiser, not the official ceremony where relatives read victims’ names at Ground Zero.
Minaj joined athletes and entertainers supporting Charity Day, including Victoria Justice, Henrik Lundqvist, Kyle Palmieri and former New York Giants receiver Amani Toomer.

Celebrity guests traditionally join Cantor and BGC brokers handling transactions, while the firms donate that day’s global revenue to participating charities.
The fundraiser honors 658 Cantor employees killed inside the North Tower, where the company occupied floors above the plane’s impact zone.
Meanwhile, Minaj’s tribute landed during a bitter MAGA dispute involving Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at the Ground Zero ceremony.
Video from the official feed showed Mamdani and Ocasio-Cortez smiling and laughing briefly while victims’ relatives were reading names before the crowd.
Conservative figures including Meghan McCain and Sen. Ted Cruz accused both Democrats of behaving disrespectfully during the solemn four-hour remembrance.
However, the footage carried no audible conversation explaining what prompted their reaction, leaving the exchange’s actual context unknown despite the political outrage.
Republican operative Michael Ragusa also argued that the circulated clip lacked context and noted other attendees exchanged smiles during the lengthy gathering.
That distinction matters because laughter occurred elsewhere during the ceremony when one victim’s grandson joked about the Knicks winning and the Jets struggling.
Mamdani had already entered the anniversary under heavy scrutiny after some relatives petitioned organizers to exclude him over his politics and associations.
“I will proudly honor the families, the survivors, the first responders forever impacted by that horrific terror attack by standing alongside them,” Mamdani previously said.
Nicki Minaj now operates openly within Trump’s political movement, recently calling herself his “No. 1 fan” and linking her political evolution to Trump and Elon Musk.
Reuters reported that relatives read all 2,977 September 11 victims’ names and six names from the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
