We test and review fitness products based on an independent, multi-point methodology. If you use our links to purchase something, we may earn a commission. Read our disclosures.

When the Garage Gym Reviews team embarked on a mission to find the best exercise bike, we encountered worthy contenders, like the Peloton Bike (best for streaming) and the AssaultBike Classic (best for HIIT workouts). However, after pedaling our way through dozens of models from all the top brands, our journey ended once our product testers strapped into the NordicTrack X24.

RELATED: 4 HIIT Bike Workouts

Equipped with iFIT programming, a 24-inch HD touchscreen, and high-tech features like smart resistance controls and an AI Coach, this premium exercise bike comes with a premium price tag. But if you’re a serious cyclist who wants to enjoy scenic on-demand workouts or stream Netflix or Spotify while you spin your wheels, the X24 offers all of that—and more.

In this NordicTrack X24 Bike review, I’ll cover everything from the toe cages and transport wheels to the immersive iFIT workouts and expansive incline/decline range so you can decide if it’s time to raise your indoor cycling standards to new heights.

Spinning Our Way to Stronger Reviews, One Ride at a Time

The GGR squad includes certified personal trainers (CPTs), certified nutrition coaches, CrossFitters, and an Olympian weightlifter. As equipment experts and fitness enthusiasts, we’ve evaluated all types of gear, including the best treadmills, best rowing machines, and even the best water bottles.

With smart home gym equipment becoming more prevalent in the home gym community, we’ve put items like the Peloton Tread and NordicTrack RW 900 Rower through our fitness equipment testing methodology to see if they deliver on the hype. We use a comprehensive 1-5 scoring system to rate key factors that affect the user experience. When it comes to exercise bikes, here are some of the most important ones we take into account:

  • Footprint and portability
  • Durability
  • Customizations
  • Adjustability and ergonomics
  • Tech capabilities

For this review, I teamed up with GGR Everything Lead Reviewer Lindsay Scheele to give you a thorough breakdown of our best overall exercise bike: the X24.

The X24 Bike is NordicTrack’s latest exercise bike offering an impressive incline range between -10% and 20% alongside iFIT compatibility for engaging on-demand workout programming. This all-new stationary bike also comes with two 3-pound dumbbells, which are ideal for taking part in iFIT’s library of non-cycling modules as well.

A Quick Look at the NordicTrack X24 Bike

Our team is intimately familiar with NordicTrack’s extensive line of exercise equipment. Having tested everything from the Commercial 1750 Treadmill to the Select-a-Weight Adjustable Dumbbbells, we’ve grown to appreciate the company’s attention to build quality, durability, and functionality.

The X24 is just the latest in a long line of NordicTrack exercise bikes that have kept us pedaling (and sweating) for all the right reasons. Here’s a quick overview of some of the top models we’ve tested:

  • NordicTrack Commercial S27i Studio Bike: A luxury studio cycle bike that boasts an impressive 27” touchscreen, dual water bottle holders, Bluetooth speakers, and more.
  • NordicTrack Commercial R35: Recommended for anyone looking for an easy-to-use, easy-on-the-body workout option.
  • NordicTrack Commercial VU 29: Good for those on a budget looking for a compact exercise bike with excellent functionality.

Before You Buy

  • The NordicTrack X24 Bike features an impressive 24” touchscreen that allows you to take advantage of the integrated iFIT programming. However, you must pay a monthly subscription to fully access this immersive experience.
  • This bike offers unparalleled incline and decline capabilities. You can go from 20% incline to -10% decline, mimicking outdoor riding experiences.
  • SmartAdjust™ technology automatically makes incline and resistance adjustments according to your fitness level based on previous workouts. You can also use the handlebars to make adjustments.
  • While we like that the X24 has dual-sided pedals and accommodates a wide height range (5’0″ to 6’5″), the seat isn’t the most comfortable. In addition, the 30-lb. flywheel may be a bit light for experienced riders.
  • Another important callout to note: NordicTrack voids your warranty if you use the X24 Bike in a non–climate-controlled space. So, if your garage gym doesn’t have insulation or an HVAC system, take this factor into consideration.

NordicTrack X24 Bike Review (2025)

Is the NordicTrack X24 Bike Worth It?

Listed for $2,299, the X24 Bike is a premium indoor cycling machine that packs a ton of user-friendly features into a premium-priced package. With a crystal-clear 24” HD touchscreen, hands-free auto-adjusting incline/decline that goes from -10% to 20%, and 24 levels of Silent Magnetic Resistance™ (SMR), this bike delivers a studio-quality workout from the comfort of your home. Furthermore, the scenic on-demand classes led by iFIT trainers transform bland and boring cardio into an engaging experience.

However, this bike isn’t necessarily the best value for everyone. If you can’t stomach paying $40 a month for an iFIT subscription or don’t need all the X24’s bells and whistles, you could go for a more budget-friendly option. Ultimately, though, its versatility, build quality, and functionality make it a worthwhile investment for cyclists who want to take their home workouts to the next level.

Great for:

  • Exercise enthusiasts who enjoy immersive experiences that simulate real-world rides
  • Families who want to make use of the iFIT Pro membership, which supports up to five user profiles
  • Home gym users who want a noiseless ride thanks to Silent Magnetic Resistance™ and a smooth-spinning flywheel
  • Cyclists looking for guided, hands-free workouts where the incline and resistance levels adjust automatically
  • Taller users who struggle to find indoor bikes that comfortably fit someone taller than 6’2″

Not recommended for:

  • Budget-conscious shoppers
  • Anyone who wants to use their bike in a non–climate-controlled area, as this will void the warranty
  • Home gym owners who prefer compact equipment for small spaces

Using the NordicTrack X24 Bike

Equipment guru and face of GGR Everything Lindsay Scheele took the X24 for a spin to see whether it lived up to the hype. While she had a few minor callouts, this bike earned a firm stamp of approval. Let’s dive into her experience using the X24 so you can get a better understanding of what to expect.

Construction and Durability

The X24 is by no means a compact bike. However, it is well-built and should have no trouble holding up with repeated rides.

“Great construction; it’s super sturdy thanks to a solid steel frame,” Lindsay explains, giving dual scores of 5 out of 5 for construction and durability.

Equipped with dual-sided pedals that accommodate SPD clips or normal training shoes with a cage toe box, the X24 has U-shaped handlebars with a nice foam texture that helps you maintain good grip with no slippage. It also features a 30-pound front flywheel.

A close look at the pedals on a NordicTrack X24 Bike.

“The flywheel isn’t the heaviest, but it’s smooth and quiet,” Lindsay says.

If you’re worried about wobbling or shaking, let me stop you in your tracks. According to Lindsay, you won’t experience any instability when using the X24.

“This handles like a dream and has an incline and decline that moves seamlessly during your workouts,” she reports.

However, that stability also means this bike lacks some portability. Lindsay gave it a 3 out of 5 in this category.

“It is a big bike and it is heavier, but it isn’t hard to move. I think most people could move this around if they have some basic strength to them,” she explains.

Tech Capabilities and Programming

Let’s face it: The main reason you’re going to invest $2,000 on an exercise bike is to take full advantage of its tech capabilities and programming options. The massive 24” pivoting touchscreen is your gateway to trainer-led workouts and scenic rides via iFIT, which is compatible with most major fitness apps like Apple Health, Strava, Garmin Connect, and Google Fit.

Incline controls on a NordicTrack X24 Bike.

“There are so many options for workouts to choose from with the iFIT programming,” Lindsay says. “Plus, the machine will automatically adjust the intensity of your workout and did so so easily that I didn’t even notice until it got harder or easier depending on what the class was doing.”

Keep in mind that iFIT programming costs $39 a month for a family membership that allows up to five user profiles. That may be expensive for some, but Lindsay believes you get great value.

“Unlike Peloton’s studio-based classes, I think iFIT really shines with outdoor experiences where you can ride all over the world. All of their cycling programs are like guided tours—bike rides through different places like China, Australia, New York City, Chicago—you name it, iFit has gone there.”

Although this bike doesn’t come with a built-in heart rate monitor, you can connect different heart rate monitors via Bluetooth. Lindsay reported it was easy to set up both the WiFi and Bluetooth connections, which can be problematic with other types of smart home gym equipment.

Overall, the X24 Bike earns perfect scores of 5 out of 5 for tech capabilities and dynamic programming.

Ergonomics, Adjustability, and Customizations

The super-silent X24 features 24 levels of magnetic resistance that can be adjusted using handlebars or touchscreen. Most impressively, this bike comes with massive incline and decline capabilities that Lindsay says “are probably the biggest I’ve ever tested.” You can go from -10% decline to a 20% incline — a great feature that allows you to activate muscles differently1 than flat-road training.

“Even at resistance level one, the 20% incline got my heart rate up—it felt more like a true outdoor experience. The 10% decline made it feel like I was going down a big hill—black diamond level. It was so much fun!” Lindsay explains.

Another perk about this bike is that the smart technology makes adjustments a breeze.

“iFit has an automatic trainer control that makes things hands-free. It shows you how many hills or declines are coming, and the bike adjusts for you. There’s also smart adjust technology that’ll keep you on pace with RPM targets. If you’re off, popups will let you know to speed up or slow down. I didn’t love the constant feedback, but you can turn it off,” Lindsay explains.

Unfortunately, one of her few quibbles with the X24 is that the seat isn’t the most comfortable.

Adjusting the seat on a NordicTrack X24 Bike.

“Not my favorite. Better than the old S22i version, but still not great. I wouldn’t want to ride this for a long time, but I’m also not an avid cyclist,” Lindsay says.

Overall, the X24 earns a 4 out of 5 for ergonomics, and 5 out of 5 for both adjustability and customizations.

NordicTrack X24 Bike vs Peloton Indoor Exercise Bike

Peloton Indoor Exercise Bike

Product Highlights

  • 21.5″ touchscreen for immersive training
  • Live classes and on-demand cycling sessions
  • Leaderboard-style competition
  • Adjustable screen, seat, and handlebars
  • 5-megapixel front-facing camera
  • Bluetooth connectivity

Pros

  • Immersive experience

  • Compact footprint
  • Sleek design
  • Financing options
  • “Try before you buy” option

Cons

  • Disappointing warranty
  • Membership is required to use bike
  • Expensive
  • Shipping is not included

One of the more expensive options for virtual biking, the Peloton Bike is designed to be an all-in-one fitness solution on a high-quality cardio machine. You’re paying not only for the bike, but the unique training experience it makes accessible from the comfort of your home.

Considered the OG of smart exercise bikes, Peloton is a popular choice for both beginners and more experienced riders since it’s incredibly intuitive and user-friendly. Similar to the NordicTrack X24, this bike provides an immersive at-home cycling experience. However, the Peloton has a smaller screen (21.5 inches vs. 24 inches), a lower weight capacity (297 pounds vs. 350 pounds), and no incline or decline capabilities.

Peloton stands out with its high-energy, instructor-led classes, community leaderboard, and daily live classes that encourage motivation and accountability. If you’re a fan of boutique-style training and connecting with other fitness enthusiasts, Peloton is a solid choice. If you value versatility and more dynamic training tools, the X24 may be the smarter investment.

Customer Experience

NordicTrack typically earns high marks from our team for providing a stress-free customer experience. The X24 Bike comes with a 10-year frame warranty, 2-year parts warranty, and 1-year labor and tablet components warranty.

However, this warranty is valid only when the bike is used in a climate-controlled environment. Otherwise, using the X24 in non-climate-controlled space, such as a garage without insulation, could void the warranty.

NordicTrack offers multiple contact methods for customer support, including via phone, live chat, and a contact form on their website for inquiries. Although some customers have reported longer-than-expected response times, we’ve generally had pleasant experiences when reaching out to NordicTrack.

Ordering the NordicTrack X24 Bike

You can order the X24 Bike directly through the official NordicTrack website. Listed for $2,300, you may be able to get it slightly cheaper depending on what promotional deals are available. Luckily, the X24 is HSA/FSA eligible, meaning you can use your pre-tax dollars for this purchase. In addition, NordicTrack also offers several financing options, including a 0% APR plan that averages out to $52 per month for 39 months.

Shipping typically takes between 7-10 business days. Keep in mind that this is a pretty hefty bike, weighing in at about 205 pounds. It might be a good idea to have a second person available to help you unbox and set it up upon arrival.

Customer Reviews

The X24 Bike has earned an average rating of 4.8 stars based on 43 reviews on the NordicTrack website. Users like being able to go from streaming their favorite shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime video to participating in scenic rides led by engaging trainers. Customers routinely praise the level of customization, along with the X24’s package of user-friendly features.

Final Verdict of Our NordicTrack X24 Exercise Bike Review

There are plenty of reasons the NordicTrack X24 earned the nod as our best overall exercise bike. From its unmatched incline/decline range to its large 24” touchscreen to its iFIT functionality, this bike can just about do it all.

Of course, you’ll have to decide whether spending $2,000 plus a monthly subscription is the best decision based on your budget and training needs. But if you’re looking for one bike to rule them all, the X24 certainly fits the bill.
