The official trailer for Moses the Black has finally arrived.
In the film’s preview, Malik (Omar Epps), a seasoned Chicago gang leader, is seen embarking on a journey of redemption and reckoning, inspired by a real fourth-century saint, St. Moses the Black.
After his release from prison, he comes head-to-head with his past and present as he navigates a power struggle with 2wo-3ree (Wiz Khalifa), the bold and unpredictable head of Malik’s young crew, who’s vying for dominance against rival boss Straw (Quavo). St. Moses the Black, played by Chukwudi Iwuji, is seen guiding Malik in his steps.
“Go and sit in yourself,” St. Moses advises Malik in one scene. “And yourself will teach you everything.”
Moses the Black is the much-anticipated fusion of suspense, moral courage, and modern relevance. Wiz Khalifa serves as the executive producer of the crime drama’s original soundtrack, which features Quavo and other collaborators.
The film is executive-produced by 50 Cent through G-Unit Film and Television. It’s also written and directed by Yelena Popovic (Man of God), with Alexandros Potter as a producer. Moses the Black hits theaters nationwide on January 30. Tickets are on sale now via Fathom Entertainment.
