UK-born Absolute Label Services has appointed Paul Purcell as Director of Platform, with a primary focus on the company’s recently-launched Anthology portal.

Purcell joins Absolute from FUGA, where he served as Director of Client Integrations.

In his new role, he will oversee the continued development and rollout of Anthology, while also working across Absolute’s broader business and platform strategy.

Absolute said on Tuesday (September 23) that Purcell’s appointment underscores the company’s “commitment to Anthology and its strategic importance to the [its] future growth”.

Absolute has also made three key promotions across both its tech and finance departments.

First up is Thomas Osgood, who makes the step up from Chief Technical Architect to Director of Engineering.

Isaac Kalil, meanwhile, has been promoted from Senior Developer to Lead Engineer.

Kallina Jelfs has been promoted to Director of Finance, having previously been Head of Finance.

Absolute unveiled Anthology in June 2025,  which it describes as an “AI-enhanced” portal for the independent music sector.

According to Absolute, the software suite acts as a “holistic” business management hub that “consolidates workflows” for catalog management, global digital distribution, neighboring rights, content ID management, and real-time analytics from streaming, physical, and direct-to-consumer sales.

Central to the Anthology portal is what the company describes as “an AI-powered music industry executive” called ‘Ant’.

Currently deployed in-house at Absolute Label Services and used by the company’s clients, Anthology will be made available to the wider industry as a standalone platform later this year.

“His deep understanding of this space and his respected reputation make him an invaluable addition to our team. We were thrilled to find that he was keen to join us after seeing what we have built, and we’re excited to have him on board to help us elevate Anthology even further.”

“When I saw Anthology for the first time, I was massively impressed. The versatility of the platform, in catering to music businesses of all kinds across verticals, was something that I had not seen before.”

Paul Purcell added: “When I saw Anthology for the first time, I was massively impressed. The versatility of the platform, in catering to music businesses of all kinds across verticals, was something that I had not seen before.

“Absolute continues to utilise Anthology with great success internally, and opening the platform up to the wider industry is an incredibly exciting prospect for me personally, for the company, and for the independent space as a whole.

“I’m delighted to be commencing this journey with Absolute, and I look forward to providing a best-in-class product and service for our clients with Anthology.”Music Business Worldwide
