Shyne Announces Homecoming Concert Celebrating 25th Anniversary Of Debut Album

Shyne is heading back to where it all began.

The Belizean emcee and politician has announced a special homecoming performance at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 9 PM EST.

The show will not only mark his long-awaited return to the borough that raised him, but also celebrate the 25th anniversary of his self-titled debut album, a project that cemented his place in hip-hop history.

Pre-sale tickets will be available February 12 at 10 AM EST with the code ROSE, while general on-sale begins Friday, February 13 at 10 AM EST.

“It is surreal to return to the stage in the neighborhood where I grew up for a night of performances celebrating classic raw hip hop,” the gruff-voiced emcee said in a statement accompanying the news.

Released by Bad Boy Records on September 26, 2000, Shyne debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and was later certified Gold by the RIAA.

The album spawned standout singles including “Bad Boyz” and “Bonnie & Shyne,” both featuring Barrington Levy, as well as “That’s Gangsta,” records that helped define the gritty sound of early-2000s New York rap.

While incarcerated for his role in the 1999 Club New York shooting, Shyne released his sophomore album, Godfather Buried Alive, in August 2004 following a reported $3 million deal with Def Jam. The project debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, selling 158,000 copies in its first week.

His remarkable journey was further chronicled in The Honorable Shyne, a documentary released in November 2024, highlighting his meteoric rise, fall, and evolution into public service.
