Workflow automation platform SoundFlow has launched a public beta of its official Ableton Live integration, turning repetitive or complicated workflows into one-touch actions.

Whether using a MIDI controller, mobile device, Stream Deck, or keyboard shortcut, users can trigger multi-step macros built with SoundFlow’s intuitive drag-and-drop editor. There are already over 850 pre-built commands ready to use within the public beta.

SoundFlow lets you edit and generate MIDI, as well as create custom export presets, and remap keyboard commands. An included ready-to-use Ableton Live Deck also offers access to “essential functions” with clear icons for easy navigation, and can be customised if desired.

The integration lets you instantly add instruments, audio effects, MIDI effects, or drum racks to your tracks. You can also launch scenes and clips via mobile devices and Stream Decks using SoundFlow, and can easily colour, route, and control your track.

Check out the videos below for more information:

“This integration goes far beyond simple shortcuts,” comments Chad Wahlbrink, Developer at SoundFlow. “We’re giving Ableton users a powerful toolkit to automate entire workflows – creating, colouring, and routing tracks, swapping MIDI Instruments and adding multiple audio effects at once, generating and transforming MIDI – with the push of a button. It’s a new era of creative efficiency.”

We scored Ableton Live 12 a 9/10 in our 2024 review. We noted its new MIDI editing and MIDI generation tools as welcome improvements, and praised its powerful browsing features, calling it “the best clip-based DAW around.” Using Ableton Live, MusicTech also put together a tutorial guide on making a “PlayStation 2 Era” house beat in just 10 minutes using free plugins.
