AI attribution company Sureel AI teams up with the Swedish music rights society to provide advanced attribution technology for music.
Sureel AI, an AI attribution technology company, has announced a strategic partnership with the Swedish music rights society STIM to provide robust protection and accurate revenue allocation for its repertoire in AI-generated music.
The partnership helps ensure that within STIM’s new licensing framework, its songwriter and publisher members receive proper credit and compensation when their works are used to train AI models or influence AI-generated content.

Sureel AI’s attribution technology creates detailed “attribution graphs” that map relationships between songs, understanding both compositional elements and recording styles. This technology will be implemented across all of STIM’s AI licensing partnerships, providing unprecedented transparency into how AI models use and learn from musical works.

As STIM rolls out its first AI licensing deal, which includes Sureel AI’s attribution technology as a core component, the collaboration represents a landmark moment in establishing fair and transparent licensing frameworks for AI music generation.
The partnership comes at a crucial time: digital service providers have been hacking away at millions of examples of “AI slop” tracks, while the major labels continue to battle AI-based copyright infringement in court. UMG and Sony recently announced a similar deal with AI research lab SoundPatrol, and more partnerships with similar goals are on the horizon as the music industry finds more ways to curb AI from infringing on rights holders’ IP.
