TeMuFra’s Colours is a new polyphonic synth plugin aimed at producers of all levels.

Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to download Colours; I’m running into an error at the Gumroad checkout. I’m not sure if I’m alone in that issue, but it’s working for some others, so I’ll keep trying.

KVR Audio lists Colours as available in AU and VST3 formats for macOS and Windows; I’ve noticed comments online saying there is no macOS installer.

Since I’m unable to confirm yet, feel free to share compatibility details in the comments.

For now, I’ll just share news of what looks to be an interesting new synth.

Colours is an eight-voice polyphonic synth focused on creating dynamic and harmonically complex sounds. TeMuFra designed the color-coded interface to make experimental sound design simple whether you’re a beginner or an experienced producer.

The colorful, straightforward GUI provides a speedy workflow and precision control over harmonics, allowing you to experiment with different spectral compositions.

The plugin lets you build waveforms from scratch, so there’s potentially unlimited sound design potential and the ability to explore sounds you might not otherwise find.

A handy oscilloscope displays the current waveform and you can see how it transforms as you adjust harmonics. You also get two ADSR envelopes and two LFOs.

You can link the LFOs/envelopes to any harmonic individually or by octave via the mod matrix.

Colours features a sizeable preset bank, with various patches across the following categories: Brass, Electronic, Keys, Pads, Plucked, Strings, and Woodwinds.

There are a couple of demo videos highlighting the available presets and some lovely sounds and textures. It seems to shine most with evolving sounds, particularly with an underlying swell or stuttering/glitchy plucks.

My Gumroad issue will hopefully be resolved soon, and I can have another go at downloading Colours. Again, feel free to share any issues or feedback in the comments.

I’m sure we’ll see and hear more from the Barcelona-based developer TeMuFra.

Since the other day, I’ve had a little more time with Sonixinema’s Delicate Strings for Kontakt Player, and it’s still one of my favorite recent freebies; it’s outstanding.

Download: Colours (FREE / Name a fair price)
