Welsh electronic music duo Overmono have released Diamond Cut, a bus processor developed in collaboration with Finnish plugin company Project Miracle.
Built specifically around their own mixing workflow, and designed to keep producers in a creative flow state, the plugin is named after the duo’s classic track Diamond Cut, and essentially combines five processing modules.
These are: a six-mode limiter, ranging from clean to aggressive; Balance, an EQ system that subtly nudges a signal towards a chosen tonal character; Soft Saturation which adds harmonic excitement without clipping; Weight, a psychoacoustic bass enhancer that adds perceived low end without piling on energy; and Width which adds side signal to make a sound feel bigger.
The interface also includes loudness metering (short-term, integrated and true peak), input and output controls, a preset browser and options for oversampling and dithering.
Overmono says the plugin reflects what they wanted from a compressor/limiter. “It preserves transients, smashes trails, glues and crunches the end of the chain in a way we can’t find anywhere else,” they say. “It’s raw loudness in the mix.”
Diamond Cut is the first plugin from Project Miracle Ltd., a company of music producers, software engineers and designers that says it aims to build intuitive and innovative tools for producers. Development began in 2023.
Overmono’s breakthrough single So U Kno became a hit with clubbers when it launched in 2021, and their live AV show has since reached major festival stages worldwide, including a recent sold-out night at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Diamond Cut is avaialable now for £89/$109/€99. A 14-day free trial and rent-to-own plan are also available.
