XILS-lab has launched a new virtual instrument inspired by the famous Memorymoog, bringing together a rich analog-style synthesis architecture, deep modulation, expressive control, and an extensive effects section within a resizable, high-resolution interface.
At the center of MemoryTone are three analog-style oscillators per voice and a self-oscillating 24 dB ladder filter—a powerful foundation for weighty basses, commanding leads, evolving pads, and animated sequences. Two ADSR envelopes and six flexible modulation slots give users broad scope to shape movement, articulation, and timbral detail, taking sounds from immediate and punchy to fluid, layered, and constantly evolving.
MemoryTone is designed to be played as intensely as it is programmed. Its advanced arpeggiator turns chords and notes into animated rhythmic and melodic ideas, while MPE compatibility extends the instrument’s expressive potential for performers using multidimensional controllers. MIDI-controllable parameters invite hands-on sound shaping and support integration into a wide range of studio and live workflows.
The effects architecture includes chorus, delay, phaser, reverb, EQ, and resonator processors. Each effect can be routed independently, allowing users to construct tailored processing paths that add space, motion, texture, and tonal character beyond a fixed effects chain. A broad factory preset library makes it easy to begin exploring MemoryTone’s creative range, while the resizable, high-resolution interface keeps detailed programming accessible across different display setups.
