Young Thug revealed his top rappers and favorite albums during a guest appearance on Adin Ross’ Kick channel last week. When asked about his top five rappers, dead or alive, Thug listed 2Pac, Drake, Wale and Big Sean (combined as one), Kanye West, and Lil Wayne.
“Wale and Big Sean are slept-on. They’re nuts,” he added, highlighting both artists’ skills.
Thug also shared his top five albums, naming his own So Much Fun, JAY-Z’s The Black Album, Drake’s Take Care, 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me, and, notably, Gunna’s DS4Ever, despite their public falling out following Gunna’s plea deal in the YSL RICO case. When asked if a reconciliation is possible, Thug said, “I don’t know. As of right now, I don’t think it could happen.”

The conversation also touched on the ongoing debate over the best contemporary rapper.
In Thug’s opinion, Drake ranks highest in his view, citing cultural impact and commercial success. “Who’s the best? I gotta say Drake. He just did more, he put more people on… numbers-wise, statistically, impact on the culture, impact on the world, Drake comes out on top,” he declared.
He praised Kendrick Lamar as well, calling him “the G.O.A.T. of the whole West Coast,” despite liking the late Nipsey Hussle more. “I like Nipsey better, but numbers-wise, Kendrick Lamar beats him,” Thug added.
Thugga recently released his fourth album, UY Scuti, his first since being released from jail last October. The album features appearances from Future, Travis Scott, Cardi B, 21 Savage, and Lil Baby.
