Congratulations are in order for Young Thug and Mariah the Scientist!
After dating on and off again for four years, the rapper went down on one knee and proposed to the singer-songwriter at his benefit concert, “Hometown Hero: Young Thug & Friends.”
On Tuesday night (Dec. 16), before the crowd in Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, Thugger interrupted the lineup of performances to pop the question. The 34-year-old rapper went down on one knee and presented a massive ring as the words “Will You Marry Me” appeared on the background screen.
As the crowd cheered and after Mariah said, “Yes,” the grinning 28-year-old singer turned around and happily told the audience, “Guess I’m getting married,” before kissing her new fiancé.
Young Thug’s timing couldn’t be better. Over the weekend, Mariah had a backstage chat with Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez, where she opened up about her desire to settle down.
“I want to be married,” she revealed. “That’s my plan. I can’t speak for everybody. That’s my plan, though. I want a baby. I want at least one. I’ll start with that and see how I can manage.”
She also shared how she’d love to become a mother and have at least child. “I’ll start with that and see how I can manage. I just want a commitment that doesn’t involve an obligation to a baby. I just want it to be out of love, not out of responsibility.”
Back in October, Thugger revealed that he and Mariah were no longer together. “I got broke up, ni**a,” he told live streamer Adin Ross. “I got a girl. She probably don’t got a boyfriend, but I got a girl.” The couple appeared to have rekindled their relationship shortly after, and the artist told TMZ they were “still going strong.”
Glad to see that all is forgiven and the couple are moving forward in their relationtionship. Wishing them much love and happiness!
