Cam’ron has grown annoyed with his back-and-forth with Jim Jones; his latest rant is evidence of this. Killah Cam used the latest episode of It Is What It Is to unload on his former bandmate, calling into question Jim’s street credibility and his business decisions in the music industry. The lengthy rant seemingly ran through the history of “Jomo” and Cam’s friendship, the Harlemite pointing to key moments that make Capo seem like a disingenuous opportunist.
“Everybody knew [Children of the Corn] was gonna get a record deal, ni**a, it wasn’t no secret,” Cam stated. “Basically, you heard our freestyles. And you came up to me one day when I was chilling in front of Hajji’s saying…’Yo, man I heard the freestyle, man, y’all killing sh*t. If y’all wanna come through, come through.’ We was like, ‘Alright, Jomo, thanks.’ It didn’t really make sense at the time. ‘Why we going to Jomo house?’ Cool. One day, I stop at Jomo house…his grandmother died, God bless the dead. And he had a free crib so yeah.”
Cam clarified that he was never homeless or needed a place to stay and crashed at a lot of his homie’s houses back then as his “grandparents were strict.” But Killah made sure to point out that Jim was never down with the crew at the time and was simply “a fan” which is how he actually “got in.”
“You were fanned out and you begged ni**as to come to your house after you heard all these mixtapes. That’s how you got in, ni**a,” he added.
“We taught you how to rap, ni**a. How you ran the whole organization? How you made Diplomats? Ni**a, you ain’t made none of this! You were a fan. I put you down ’cause you had a free crib and you were a nice guy…You’re a guardian angel in designer, ni**a. You are from the Bronx, bro. You are not from Harlem. I did not grow up with you, my ni**a.”
As the rant continues, the Purple Haze emcee stated that this whole ordeal was because he “asked 50 a question.” Cam was confused as to why that bothered Jim so much and insisted that the incident happened so long ago that he assumed everyone had matured and moved on. Cam’ron then took the time to bring up Jones’ previous behavior of “making up” with people he claims to have issues with.
“You tried to chase French Montana out of the game, and that didn’t work out, so y’all got cool. So cool that you go to his movie [premiere]. You’re sitting in the crowd watching the premiere and they dissing you in the movie!…Ever wonder how he met Maino? Maino gonna downplay it ’cause they cool now. He tried to press Maino ’cause Maino first came out with a little record where he said a ni**a’s name. So Jim went to see Maino one day and was like, ‘Yo, wassup with all that saying my name?’ Maino said, ‘Who the f**k you talking to?! Oh, you think I’m one of them ni**as? You out your muthaf**king mind!’ Now they’re the Lobby Boyz.”
The rapper-turned-pundit then explained why Jim’s behavior had confused him. Killa doubled down on his examination of his former associate, insisting that he never recognizes when people actually have genuine love for him and constantly overlooks those “patterns.”
Cam’ron then used his rant to put Jim Jones on game, pleading with him to stop exploiting his friends for profit and leaving other artists out to dry. Cam also asked him to stop taking advantage of rappers trying to make it out the streets.
“Stop tricking ni**as out of their freedom, bro. ‘Cause ni**as get around you to put themselves in better situations, not to be in worse situations than before they met you. You send them on dummy missions and trick them out of their freedom,” he added.
“Max [B] is doing 75, I know you don’t give a f**k. Jha Jha just wanted to be a rapper, Jha Jha got 10 years. We don’t know where Jeter at. Stro is missing, I don’t know what the f**k happened to Stro. Slicey, 12 years. His godson who was 13 years old, eight years. Shotty, he was trying to [be a rapper], 12 years….And I know you love Mel [Matrix] ’cause I love Mel, that’s my brother. But you said when he comes home he’s gonna be the triple OG. Give that man a job, ni**a! Make sure he gets six digits a year. That’s what it’s really about.”
The Paid In Full entertainer declared that this rant would be the “last time I address this” and that “I’m not doing this every seven, eight, nine, 10 years. Whatever you got to say after this, I wish you luck. I got other sh*t to do.”
