Fontaines D.C. have officially launched their next era. The Irish band returned with their brand-new single “Marianne,” serving as the lead track for their newly announced fifth studio album, “Dopamine Chamber” (arriving October 16 via XL Recordings).”Marianne” opens with a sinister blend of sweeping strings, thick synth textures, and haunting guitars. Love the weird little swirling atmospheric synths and noise that are sort of burbling around in the background.Moving away from the guitar language of their previous records, this marks their most commercial and radio friendly song till now.Sounds like it has a staying power and thank god it saves this week’s new releases by far.
