Coi Leray says motherhood and the arrival of daughter Miyoco helped reshape her relationship with Benzino after years of very public family turmoil.
Coi Leray has apparently done something that once seemed almost impossible: she has found peace with Benzino.
Yes, her pops.
After years of public disagreements, social media explosions and enough family drama to make Thanksgiving dinner extremely uncomfortable, Coi says she and Benzino have quietly repaired their relationship. Good for them!
During a recent appearance on “The Jason Lee Show,” Coi revealed that things between father and daughter are considerably better these days. And there is one tiny person who helped change everything.

Benzino regularly FaceTimes with her and his granddaughter. Even sweeter, little Miyoco reportedly calls him “pop pop.” That’s wonderful!
Coi said motherhood changed the way she looks at her father. Becoming responsible for another human being, while simultaneously carrying the financial responsibilities that come with being a provider, apparently gave her some additional perspective on Benzino’s journey. AYE!
That does not mean everything that happened magically disappeared.
“We forgive, we just don’t forget,” Coi said.
That sentence says a lot.
Anybody who followed their relationship knows this was not some minor father and daughter disagreement. Their problems repeatedly spilled onto social media, sometimes involving comments about Coi’s career, childhood and family history. At different points, reconciliation seemed pretty far away.
They made a major change. They are keeping their disagreements away from the internet.
Imagine that! This is not a reality show after all!
Maybe becoming a grandfather softened Benzino. Maybe becoming a mother gave Coi another perspective. Maybe both finally realized that social media is probably the worst family therapist ever invented. Lord – now teach the rest of these people.
Whatever happened, I like this development.
There is something powerful about Coi allowing her daughter to have her own relationship with her grandfather without pretending the past never happened. Forgiveness does not necessarily mean amnesia.
And Benzino being “pop pop” – love it.
Sometimes families actually get a happy chapter.
