Back in 2020, a father and son from Luxembourg dreamed of combining the worlds of LEGO and Daft Punk. Taking to the LEGO Ideas community page, the pair pitched the concept of a Daft Punk Pyramid Stage LEGO set inspired by the electronic duo’s 2007 ALIVE tour – and it caught the attention of the LEGO team. Six years on, it’s now a reality.
LEGO first revealed the collaboration last month, posting a suitably neon-lit teaser of two minifigures operating some decks wearing teeny Daft Punk helmets. Now, LEGO has shown the full set in all its glory, with Daft Punk’s One More Time even soundtracking the company’s 2026 holiday advert.
Just like the original concept that was posted to the LEGO Ideas platform in 2020, the LEGO set is an ode to Daft Punk’s bright, flashy live production. And the advert makes it look like a total party – we’re talking crowdsurfing dragons, breakdancing builders, moshing yetis and more.
In fact, the holiday advert even shows a lots of other recognisable characters raving to Daft Punk, including characters from K-Pop Demon Hunters, Marvel heroes like Thor and Doctor Doom, and more.
While the official product hasn’t been shared beyond the advert, not much seems to have changed from the initial idea. And the father and son couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. “We never dared imagine it would take off in this way,” Patrick Harboun, proud father and owner of the original submission, said in a press release. “Watching our passion project become part of an official collaboration is an incredible experience, and it’s a reminder of what makes the LEGO Ideas community so special.”
As for the LEGO team, transforming a vibrant Daft Punk DJ set into brick form was a challenge they relished. “The Pyramid Stage is one of the most recognisable expressions of Daft Punk’s visual world, so it feels fitting that this fan-created design will be centre stage of this partnership,” Cédric Hervet, Creative Director for Daft Punk, said.
The Daft Punk reveal comes as LEGO bursting open the doors on its Christmas season. Throughout November and December, the company will host LEGO Giftmas Workshops in stores across London, Glasgow and Manchester for free, allowing visitors to build sets in store to bring home a “Brick-spoke Giftmas treat”.
