There’s been new development in what was an awkward cultural moment in the industry earlier this year — Cam’ron and J. Cole have finally officially made amends. For the uninitiated, we are referring to Cam’ron filing a legal suit against J. Cole over a song on his mixtape Might Delete Later.

Previously, Cam’ron had claimed that Cole only gave him a co-writing credit on the song ‘Ready ’24,’ even though his vocals appeared on the record. He also claimed he never received any royalties or financial compensation for his work on the song, and was instead offered a podcast appearance (if not a verse in return) that never happened.

The two squashed tensions earlier this year, when Cole in fact decided to show up to Cam’ron’s podcast — even participating in a skit to address the absurdity and awkwardness of the entire situation. Now, loose ends have been tied up with the two having reached an amicable settlement on May 26.

Attorneys on both end remarked that the two have reached an “agreement in principle” to end the matter, and that they’re in the process of “finalising the settlement papers.” The details of the settlement, however, have been kept private. Well, all’s well that ends well!
