Kodak Black’s latest legal win comes after a Broward judge tosses his fleeing charge over an improper traffic stop.
Kodak Black walked out of a Broward courtroom Tuesday with one less legal headache after a judge tossed out his fleeing and eluding charge.
The case stemmed from a February traffic stop that never should’ve happened in the first place, according to court documents that paint a picture of a deputy who barely tried to make a lawful stop.
According to NBC Miami, Judge Corey B. Friedman granted the defense motion to dismiss, essentially saying the whole thing fell apart under scrutiny.

A Broward Sheriff’s deputy spotted Kodak’s pink Jeep Grand Cherokee parked on Northwest 18th Avenue and MLK Jr. Boulevard, and instead of running a proper traffic stop, the deputy just pulled up and said “what’s going on boss? You good?”
Kodak answered “fine” and kept it moving. The defense team argued that the deputy never requested his license, never asked for insurance, never even stepped out of his patrol vehicle to engage properly, and definitely never gave any kind of lawful order that actually meant something.
The motion to dismiss stated it clearly: there were no lights, no sirens, no real attempt at a legitimate stop.
The prosecutor tried to argue that Kodak was ordered not to leave the scene and defied that order, but the judge wasn’t buying it.
Defense attorney Bradford Cohen pointed out the obvious holes in the case, and the judge agreed there wasn’t enough there to hold up.
This is part of a larger pattern for Kodak, who’s been cycling through the system for years on various charges.
He’s got a pending drug possession case out of Orange County where he pleaded not guilty and remains out of custody.
Back in 2023, he caught a cocaine possession charge in Broward that got dismissed, and in July 2022, he was arrested with 31 oxycodone tablets and nearly $75,000 in cash during a traffic stop.
Last week, body cam footage from a separate May 2026 arrest in Orange County surfaced online showing Kodak calmly finishing his meal while deputies waited nearby before taking him into custody.
The footage went viral, but it’s from a completely different arrest than the one just dismissed.
Kodak’s legal team, which includes attorneys David Bigney and Bradford Cohen, continues to fight his cases aggressively.
