Keefe D’s attorney is demanding a full case dismissal and written apology from prosecutors, claiming the evidence against his client is fundamentally flawed.

Keefe D is pushing hard to get his entire Tupac murder case dismissed just days before jury selection kicks off in Las Vegas.

He claims his confessions were nothing more than a publicity stunt designed to cash in on fame and fortune.

The 63-year-old Compton street legend’s attorney Mike Sanft is firing back at prosecutors with aggressive motions, insisting the Clark County district attorney’s office built a case so weak it should’ve never made it past the investigation phase.

According to The Sun, Sanft is demanding not just a dismissal but a written apology from DA Steve Wolfson for even charging his client in the first place.

Sanft’s argument centers on a First Amendment defense, claiming that everything Keefe D said in his memoir, police interviews, and podcast appearances was protected speech, not an admission of guilt.

The attorney’s frustration with law enforcement runs deep, arguing that the investigation was sloppy and the evidence is “half-baked and impure.”

He’s essentially telling the court that prosecutors yanked his client out of his home in the middle of the night, tore up his house, and threw him in jail for three years based on nothing solid.

Sanft believes the DA’s office should’ve looked at the book and the confessions and simply rolled their eyes instead of moving forward with charges.

The trial is scheduled to begin August 10, and both sides are bracing for what could be one of the most high-profile cases in recent memory.

Keefe D has been locked up since his September 2023 arrest, and despite maintaining his innocence in court filings,

Sanft told media outlets that his client won’t take the stand during trial, but the defense is confident the jury will see through what they’re calling a prosecutorial overreach.

The DA’s office is seeking life imprisonment if Davis is convicted, though they’ve indicated they won’t pursue the death penalty.

What makes this case particularly complex is the media circus surrounding Tupac’s 1996 murder and the decades of speculation about who was responsible.

Sanft is concerned that jurors will come in with preconceived notions shaped by documentaries, podcasts, and endless internet chatter about the killing.

He’s urging potential jurors to set aside everything they think they know and only consider evidence presented in court.

The defense team is also dealing with the fact that Keefe D previously claimed Diddy offered him a $1 million to kill Tupac, allegations that have dominated media coverage and could poison the jury pool before opening statements even begin.
