Macklemore may have been kicked off Ed Sheeran’s tour, but he’s still standing strong on business. If anything, he seems more motivated than ever to raise his voice for Palestinian liberation and has just announced a tour.
As you may have guessed it, the proceeds from the tour will be routed towards organisations working actively to support affected Palestinians. The tour has been named the ‘Free Palestine Tour,’ and will cover Dublin, Paris and London as the first few stops.
Other artists and stops will also be announced in the coming days. Taking to social media, Macklemore also expressed his thoughts on facing professional pushback.
“What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage,” Macklemore said via an Instagram caption. “When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention.”
He also mentioned the fact that he has reached out to artists with similar stances and belief and hopes to amplify this ‘moment of momentum.’ Tickets will be available on macklemore.com (with presale beginning next Monday at 10AM local). Head to the website for more details!
