The Drum Broker has introduced a new sample pack by Daniel Blonde. The royalty-free New Old Breaks Vol. 1 features drums made to sound older than they are.
Cut last year in Brooklyn and tracked through vintage microphones, the way the old records caught a kit, every break was played by hand, not lifted off a record. Some sit close and dry, others pull back for room and weight. All of it original, nothing to clear.
This is about feel, not precision: drums that breathe and push instead of locking to a grid. The swing is real and so is the dust, with enough range across the pack to slide under a quiet verse or hold up a heavy one. It sits in boom bap, hip hop, indie, psych, or anything reaching for analog grit. Recorded new, but it lands around 1971.
Available to purchase for $29.99 USD, the pack includes 188 drum breaks, 125 one shots, 22 fills and 20 percussion loops.
