NBA legend Paul Pierce is back in court, due to his ex-partner claiming he’s hiding finances to avoid paying child support.
The mother of former NBA star Paul Pierce is accusing him of not being honest about his financial records, and has taken him back to court to force him to disclose that information and to pay court-ordered child support.
According to reports, Princess Santiago filed a motion claiming that the former Boston Celtics star had purposely not produced bank statements and other financial documents that she previously requested.
Santiago also claimed in the motion that he failed to report all information about his income while working with Fox Sports 1 as well as financial earnings from a cannabis company and ownership interest in a commercial property.
She requested $10,000 for payment of the forensic accountant that she won in a previous judgement, as well as an additional $40,000 in legal fees from the NBA champion.
Paul Pierce has been in a tense battle with Santiago since August, when he was ordered by the court to pay $8,508 a month in temporary child support for their son, King Rafael Santiago Pierce. Pierce was also ordered to pay $100,000 in legal fees.
Pierce has been adamant that any awards that he was instructed to pay by the court should reflect his current earnings. He left FS1 in 2021. Pierce also stated that his child support obligations for four other children – which total $44,000 a month – should also have been considered.
Santiago has claimed that the former guard earned a total of $200 million during his NBA career, and pointed to comments he made during an interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast with Shannon Sharpe where he stated he never touched his NBA monies for personal reasons due to endorsement income.
