The National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) has announced the honorees for its 2026 Annual Meeting, which will take place at Lincoln Center‘s Alice Tully Hall in New York on Wednesday, June 10.

P!NK will receive this year’s NMPA Songwriter Icon Award.

Songwriter and producer Julian Bunetta, the co-writer behind Sabrina Carpenter‘s Espresso, Teddy Swims‘ Lose Control, and One Direction‘s Night Changes, will be honored with the Non-Performing Songwriter Icon Award.

Meta President and Vice Chairman Dina Powell McCormick will sit down for a keynote conversation with NMPA President and CEO David Israelite.

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. will receive the NMPA‘s Industry Legacy Award.

P!NK – a three-time Grammy Award winner with 10 NMPA Gold & Platinum certifications, according to the NMPA – has built a songwriting catalog that extends beyond her own chart-topping records.

Her credits as a songwriter for other artists include Celine Dion‘s Recovering, Faith Hill‘s If You’re Gonna Fly Away, and two tracks on Cher‘s Closer to the Truth album.

Bunetta, a three-time Grammy nominee, has amassed 41 NMPA Gold & Platinum songwriting certifications, according to the NMPA.

He was nominated for Record of the Year and Album of the Year at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards for his work on Carpenter‘s Short n’ Sweet and its lead single Espresso.

Bunetta signed a global publishing agreement with Sony Music Publishing in October 2024.

Powell McCormick was appointed Meta‘s President and Vice Chairman in January 2026.

Prior to joining the tech company, she spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs in senior leadership roles and served as Deputy National Security Advisor during President Donald Trump‘s first administration.

Meta has been increasingly active in the music space in recent months, including commissioning a Luminate study positioning Instagram as a superfan hub for the music industry.

Mason‘s Industry Legacy Award recognizes his work championing songwriters during his tenure as Recording Academy CEO – a role he has held since 2020.

Under his leadership, the Academy introduced the Grammy Award for Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical, and expanded the eligibility for songwriters to be honored in the Album of the Year category.

David Israelite, NMPA

“We are thrilled to honor P!NK whose catalog embodies authenticity and depth and whose songwriting has a singular style.”

David Israelite

Israelite said: “We are thrilled to honor P!NK whose catalog embodies authenticity and depth and whose songwriting has a singular style.

“Julian Bunetta has been writing everyone’s favorite songs for decades.

“We look forward to spotlighting his incredible talent that has elevated some of the world’s biggest stars.

“Meta President Dina Powell McCormick will share her influential perspective on today’s business landscape and Meta‘s role in the rapidly changing technology space.

“Finally, Harvey Mason jr. was an obvious choice for our Industry Legacy Award.

“Since leading the Recording Academy, he has championed songwriters in very real ways, which we will discuss in a special fireside chat.”

The NMPA‘s Annual Meeting is one of the music publishing industry’s marquee events.

At last year’s edition, Israelite revealed that US music publishing revenue jumped 13.4% to $7 billion in 2024, outpacing the growth rate of recorded music.

Bunetta‘s career was the subject of an in-depth profile in MBW‘s World’s Greatest Songwriters series in October 2025, in which he discussed his work with One Direction, Carpenter, and Teddy Swims.Music Business Worldwide
