Sony Music Publishing has appointed Roslyn Pineda as President, Asia, effective immediately.

Pineda will succeed longtime SMP Asia President Carol Ng, who will remain with the company until her planned retirement at the end of March this year.

As President, Pineda will be responsible for overseeing creative and business operations across multiple territories in Asia.  Pineda is tasked with strengthening key relationships with clients and industry partners and expanding global support for SMP songwriters in the region.

She will be based out of Hong Kong and will report directly to Sony Music Publishing President, International, Guy Henderson.

Pineda joins the music publishing business from Sony Music, where she most recently held the position of General Manager, Philippines and prior to that, Vice President, Artist Relations & Business Development, Asia.

Having worked at the record label both in Hong Kong and earlier in the Philippines since 2001, Pineda has worked with a broad variety of artists both Asian and Western, including John Mayer, F4, Leehom Wang, Jessi, Sekai No Owari, Ricky Martin, Alicia Keys, and One Direction.

From late 2018, Pineda oversaw the reopening of SME’s Philippines office, signed Ben&Ben, SB19 and IV OF SPADES, led the acquisition of the ABS-CBN music catalogue in 2024, and she was honored as Billboard Philippines’ first-ever Music Industry Executive of the Year in 2025.  Before working in music, Pineda began her career in marketing at Unilever.

Ng first joined the company in 1998 as Finance and Admin Manager, was later promoted to CFO, Asia, then Regional MD Asia, before being promoted to President, Asia in 2021.

Since then, Ng has overseen the business across the Asian market, managing strategic expansion with the launch of multiple new offices in the region, including Jakarta, Indonesia, in 2021, Bangkok, Thailand, in 2025, and paving the way for Manila, the Philippines, later this year.

“I am so pleased that Ros will take over the reigns as President for SMP Asia, which is one of our most important and continuously expanding international regions.”

Guy Henderson, SMP

On the appointment of Roslyn Pineda as President, Asia, Sony Music Publishing President, International Guy Henderson said: “I am so pleased that Ros will take over the reigns as President for SMP Asia, which is one of our most important and continuously expanding international regions.

“With Ros’s success in the artist development and creative space, as well as her experience of more than two decades in the music business, she brings a new focus to the region to further expand our business into the future.”

On the retirement of Carol Ng, Sony Music Publishing President, International Guy Henderson added: “Carol Ng has led our company in Asia with great distinction and success for many years. During her time, she expanded our business into new territories and established us as the leading publisher across the region.

“Her contributions have positioned our team for further growth, and we are incredibly grateful for all that he has done for the company.”

Carol Ng said: “Throughout all these years my team and I have had good synergies with each other, we have worked and built together the leading market position in the region.  It has therefore been a difficult decision for me to retire but there is a time for everything.

“I am looking forward to spending more time with my family and a personal plan to gradually stay more in the UK.”

“I look forward to collaborating with our talented team and working closely with Guy Henderson and Jon Platt to empower our songwriters across Asia.”
