Suno has upgraded its Suno Studio DAW to version 2.0, introducing new features such as advanced stem separation, MIDI tools, and even the ability to converse with the DAW itself.

Suno Studio launched in 2025, combining the generative AI technology Suno is notorious for with the typical features you’d find inside a DAW. MusicTech reviewed the platform earlier this year, rating it 6/10.

What’s new in Suno Studio 2.0?
Starting with the most on-the-nose addition for Suno, Studio 2.0 now lets users chat with the DAW itself “like you would any other collaborator”. You can ask ‘Chat’ to create instruments and vocals from scratch, collaborate with it to design new plugins, or even request that it tidies up your session.

Chat is said to understand music production, so you can speak to it like you would “any other member of the band”. At launch, creating new plugins won’t require credits, “though a credit structure may be introduced in the future”, states Suno.

On a more requested note, users of Studio 2.0 can now import, record and edit MIDI directly on the timeline, and design their own sounds with a new wavetable synth. MIDI clips can also be used as a prompt for new audio generations. If you don’t have a MIDI controller, you can play notes using your typing keyboard.

Suno has also updated Studio with its latest advanced stem separation tool, letting users extract stems with “amazing audio fidelity”. And, for the first time, users can alter track and plugin parameters over time by drawing automation curves.

As a Premier subscriber, users can also export multitracks and stems from Studio without limitations.
