Waldorf updates Microwave 1 synthesizer plugin to version 2

Waldorf Music has introduced a major update to its software recreation of the instrument which defined hybrid synthesis at its best with a unique interpretation of wavetable synthesis combined with analog filters.

Version 2 of the Microwave 1 Plugin brings new sound and performance features, and various workflow and usability improvements.

The Waldorf Microwave 1 Plugin was painstakingly recreated from the original hardware with all its idiosyncrasies and wonderful singularities.

A multi-year effort and a labor of love which analyzed and modeled the original instruments down to the finest sonic details of every aspect of the hardware.

Changes in Microwave 1 version 2

• Expanded polyphony via additional voice cards (8 → 32 voices) with preserved micro-timing and variation.
• New playback modes including Round Robin and Random Robin.
• Polyphonic arpeggiator per instrument part.
• Global arpeggiator with round robin options.
• Creative delay effect with filter, tremolo, diffusion and pitch shifting.
• Redesigned preset browser with favorites, search and direct instrument part loading (also in v1.3).
• Multi-level undo/redo for parameter editing (also in v1.3).
• Simultaneous editing of multiple instrument parts (also in v1.3).
• New presets from mixer, engineer, and producer Chuck Zwicky (also in v1.3).
